I am surprised we didn’t do a bucket collection, has we did, we would raise enough money for staffs and players wages, over the last 5 home games.

We shouldn’t that because it’s not sustainable and simply unaffordable in a cost of living crisis that many find themselves in. The moment we do it every match is the moment Ron moves his goal posts and says ‘Ah, I don’t need to pay because the fans will do it!’.

When Bury were going bust, they were offered £1million from Bill Kenwright. This was blocked by EFL due to his ties with Everton as a conflict of interests. I wonder if the National League would have the same stance on conflict of interest…

There was a very short 1min 40 sec video put on FB today by the people doing the documentary , They was talking to RM and they asked the question about players and staff wages and would they receive a bonus once paid ( if at all ) RM SAID THEY WOULD ALL BE PAID PLAYERS ,MANAGEMENT AND STAFF AND ALSO WOULD RECEIVE A NICE BONUS. With this the video was stopped , but the producers of it stated that very shortly they would be screening the full documentary .

We was already in the national league when Glyn Hopkin a local Nissan car dealer was our owner, he used a fan rift with the still current MD as his reasons for pulling out, the real reason was he needed to save his money as he was about to be smashed with 100% compensation on used cars his business sold so copped out blaming the fans.

Other Daggers tell me a different story and that includes some who worked for him. Anyway GH never got done and is still going.

He did fund a lot of money for the refurb of your many bars. Thats why your club makes far more money from its facilities than ours. Ive been to midweek retirement gigs with 300+ people in the main bar and still plenty of locals in the one next door.

Even when TL explains this and has first hand experience from Gills.....Some still wont believe him

Can I just ask without being gunned down... and without casting any doubt over the quality of the poster, but I don't know @in the know , are we absolutely 100% certain that is what RM said to the players yesterday? Everyone seems to have taken it as gospel so far and I know that suits the current sentiment, but I'll wager that if it was a good news report no-one would have accepted it so readily.

It's not that people won't believe him. I've said before, any additional revenue streams would be great but we need more flesh on the bones. Some case studies, some figures, some projections, more details on the exact nature of the revenue streams and to what extent they will benefit the club.

It's all very, very vague as things stand. I suspect it's because they haven't formulated anything more than vague aims and unfortunately I think that's a symptom of SUFC being a vehicle for property development - a passenger and an onlooker whilst the housing element and keeping the council onside is prioritised. The club is firmly bottom of the priority list in this whole thing, behind Ron Martin's financial gain and the council's financial gain.

They want these revenues to make SUFC self-sustaining - D&R are not so whilst true that they make good non-football income, it's hardly a like-for-like comparison.

Thing is, accepting good news readily (especially out of something like reports of a team meeting) also means trusting Martin, which very few people do.

I trust @in the know but even if I didn't (and this probably won't make any difference to whether yourself or anyone else believes it because I can't reveal who I speak to), I've been told the same story independently by three other sources who I trust. They either have a direct line into said meeting and/or they've given me no reason to disbelieve them before. Its definitely good enough for me but might not be for others, and that's fine.

I’ve been told very very similar.

If @in the know posts something, it’s very accurate information. Along with a few other posters.

For anyone interested in the planning angle in all this.
I see the decision is delegated and had Determination Deadline of 13/12/22 (when did we first here of bridging loans being agreed?). That was missed....so not much of a deadline...perhaps more of a loose ambition.
The Agreed Expiry Date is 05/04/23.

As you know my interest is the assumption (no proof or evidence) that a bridging loan would naturally have a condition or require that planning approval is in place regarding the security concerned (maybe that vacating B&L only generates the funding IF the planning is also in place). This would initial have been expected before Xmas?

Anyone any feedback from SBC, planning officers, councillors on the obvious delays?

Would be interested to get your thoughts on what was allegedly said during the player meeting?

It’s not the best news is it, and that’s putting it mildly.

RM isn’t really a people person, and he does rub people up the wrong way, even when he doesn’t mean to.

One thing I will say, I don’t believe there will be any transfer requests going in at the moment. This is the closest knit group of players since Tilson’s back-to-back promotion winning squad. They do so much together outside of football, you only have to see some of the players social media accounts.

More time is spent a Boots & Laces then ever before, as we saw with LP’s social media before he moved on.

There has never been any talk of striking, downing tools, or not playing. They genuinely believe, IF we survive, we have an excellent shot at promotion. The players still talk about Bromley last season with over 8,000 inside the Hall. They want to go on and be the group that gets us back into the football league.

Yes they want to be paid, yes some are struggling with that more so than others, but they are helping each other out, along with the likes of the management trio and the football department in general.

You heard any players put in transfer requests

That is cheering to hear at least.

Hope they all know how much we appreciate their efforts, as well as management and staff.

They are the glue holding us all together at the moment.

With Purdah coming in around mid-March they better get a move on

This would be my guess in this scenario. The figure being quoted privately in terms of funds released as probably the value of land with planning permission. Much more valuable than it would be without, obviously.

@in the know is Ron’s cleaner

If Gus Scott Morris' words were anything to go by last night, they would certainly echo the things you state. They seem so close as a unit and seem to want to do anything for eachother, true brotherhood. We don't see that often these days which is testament to the job the management/scouting team have done to identify those characteristics in this group of players. What we lack in quality in some areas, we certainly make up for in desire, courage and respect. They respect eachother, the fans and the badge. I couldn't remember what that was like from a group of players. Got so much love for them at the moment 💙
