A word of advice to the new players, invest a fiver or so in a program called Hattrick Manager. As I'm sure ther rest of the guys here will tell you it is invaluable. It helps you select your best team, gives you ratings for where players play best, and the best thing that I have found about it is the able to input the attributes of potential signings and it gives you a number rating which you can compare to your current team players.

I use a free prog that does the same as Hattrick forever http://www.hattrickorganizer.de/

Looks pretty good. But I prefer the interface of HM
