Luggy didn't get us promoted so I don't get your point with comparing his record to Brown's.

I agree he didn't but if we had kept Luggy on, maybe we would be in L1 now. Something we will never know obviously but I suggest we would have had more chance by keeping Luggy on. PB will never gain 83 points in a season, promotion or no promotion. Luggy was sacked and PB made a right **** up at Wembley. That rang alarm bells straight away.

My argument against the doom mongers is this....we currently occupy a play off spot....won our last league game and have shown we can put a run of results together.....I can see where improvement is needed if course but why pour so much effort into moaning and bitching when actually it aint so bad.

It's a fair argument but we now need results. From what I can see from afar if Brown has wanted a player we've managed to get that player. It seems to me to be the first time in many seasons where we've not had embargo as a valid excuse. Play offs are a minimum and to do that you simply have to beat the out of form basement team at home. I'm sure everyone goes into a game with the intention of getting behind the team and I would echo the comment about getting behind them especially if the first half is cagey.

Results are a must. I would go as far as saying the next 4 or 5 fixtures will determine PBs future.

I
True, we could be in an 'automatic' slot instead, or at worst, 4th.

That together with LeeBlue's comments says it all. Right that's put me in a positive frame of mind as I head out for Saturday night HK fun. Love the match thread on a Sat night - with your clock changes 11pm start by which time I should have sunk several

I think that's probably true. Quite rightly, everyone is looking at our form at the moment, yet perhaps we should be keeping an eye (even at this early stage) on the likes of Luton, Shrewsbury and Plymouth, who are already laying down their credentials as automatic promotion candidates........and I haven't even mentioned Wycombe, who are top of the league. We certainly need a series of good results to keep our automatic promotion hopes alive and not give us a mountain to climb in the second-half of the season. Let's be clear about this, with this squad, we should be looking at avoiding the lottery of the play-offs next year. Another play-off defeat next May won't count as a success as far as I'm concerned.

I really shouldn't be thinking this way, but 1-0 Hartlepool at 12/1 does look good value.

God, I hope we win and win well though.

I hate thinking like this and it makes me feel guilty but I'm so dead-set against the Orange muppet staying in charge that I'd almost advocate a loss today to accelerate his departure

I kind of know what you're saying, but if we went on a 6 match winning run (I admit that is pretty unlikely!) then you would be less dead-set against the Orange Muppet, therefore would no longer be advocating the loss.

I know what you're saying in theory, but in reality when the whistle blows you can't help wanting us to win.

I am at home this afternoon in the middle of a self imposed suspension, not because we haven't been winning, but because the performances have been so depressing and non exciting....some may call me a fair weather fan, but at the best part of £70 each home game for me, I need my time out.
