Question Harry Crawford Song

Do you think the Harry Crawford song should not be sung

I don't want to seem like I'm ganging up here or anything!

The chant about Harry Crawford I will say it again! IS A JOKE!
Everyone knows it is a joke!
I'm getting really sick and tired with this WHOLE country becoming so Politically Correct.

It's got nothing to do with political correctness I can assure you, I'm one of the biggest protesters about the way that's interfered with our lives on the board! It's also nothing to do with being gingerist (if there's such a word) but what it has everything to do with is appropriateness and I, and it seems others, find this chant being sung at a young man singularly inappropriate.

I appreciate that!
Gingerist should probably be a word!
It wasn't really a rant at the opinions directed to this chant!

I think it is fine that you and others agree that this song is inappropriate, I can see how it is thought to be inappropriate but what I don't understand is that some people don't see it as a joke!

utb!

re using an old song when the only common denominator is the final line about hair colour is a bit lame

Something original would be a good place to start

- You can't call 'spotted dick pudding' that anymore because it's to rude

Don't agree with you, I had to endure years of verbal abuse in the showers after games over this one, not to mention the huge amount of money I had to spend on clearasil. Oh yeah, and if anyone's interested it doesn't work on your 'old fella', only on your face apparently. I wish they'd made that clear on the label......

I think one of the most poignant comments made regarding this subject was TB saying that it is a farce to portray Master Crawford as some innocent 16 year old, who hasn't smoked, had a drink, or uttered a few swear words - he is part of a modern society.

Well I think that just about sums up entirely what is wrong with modern society that you assume, and indeed think it acceptable, that a 16 year old kid acts in this way - It isn't. Maybe I'm getting old, but I would like to think that I will bring my 2 1/2 year old up to know better than that when he us 16 years of age.

Political correctness? Perhaps, but he is only 16 - he is a kid, and as much as the chant is intended as a joke, and I'm sure he feels like Billy Big B******s when it's being song, I think it is entirely inappropriate, and sends out completely the wrong message to kids of that age. He may have broken into our first team, but he's a kid, and no doubt, impressionable, and whilst we may think it harmless fun, I think it just sums up how wrong society is these days......

Anyway, Jeremy Kyle rant over, back to football..... :)

This pretty much sums it up. Attitudes towards the rest of society have changed dramatically in the last 10 years or so. I'm not saying it's right, but i am saying, that is the way of 'the younger lot' now.

while I wholeheartedly agree with your viewpoint, it seems unrealistic these days,
and i say these days but i had done a few cheeky things by the time i was 16 as I imagine we all have! the difference is fundamentally knowing what is right or wrong,
Still think a better and more positive chant would be better and more positive,
