I just have a gut feeling that he didn't want to go but got offered double (or more) his wages which no one can stand in his way for that. I can't really remember a player leaving for some years where I felt so gutted about them leaving, it also came a bit of a shock. Not to mention losing players to FGR is really quite depressing.
