The game was tense for the whole 120 minutes and I could not take my eyes off the play let alone consider leaving early. I would pay good money to have the experience and elation again when Piggot got that late late goal, magical.

I had to sit down for a moment half way through the penalties.

**** knows how the players cope with that pressure.

I was watching at home as we were back by half time from our family do and by the end of the penalty shoot out we were all standing and screaming at the TV.

The pressure and nerves in our house, let alone at the ground was incredible.

For our lot who, lets face it, don't have a great penalty record this season, to take 8 penalties ALL on target shows what we are about. Never ever gave up and amazing, given where we were after the Cambridge United game mentally and worse, where we were after Morecambe.

This team can go far next season, with a couple of additions and the belief we already have.

Tbh why would you leave early anyway. The very least is stay behind and clap the players at the end! Unfortunately they missed out on one of the greatest moments in the club's history ..a Last gasp equalizer at Wembley!

A couple of things. I met a family outside the toilets just after final whistle who had left early, and still didn't realise we had scored lol

also saw on Twitter a guy who due to work commitments had to leave on 113 mins he heard the roar on Wembley way. The family no sympathy, this guy shed loads

I'm sure I was on the verge of a heart attack at one point. A pure rollercoaster of emotions

I couldn't really celebrate at the end when Bentley saved - I gave so much for the equalizer I just didn't have any strengh left. I have never celebrated any goal quite like that - amazing moment.

Never leave early is the clear message yet again. Also if we had have lost , like all the other recent ".finals " I have been too you stay on past the bitter end to applaud the ars. off your team, that's what strong support is about! Get home late and be the last man standing in the feckin ground if needs be!

What a game. Even Spielberg could not write a better ending for a film, and you know what the yanks are like. They need just one more goal in the last dying 30 seconds.
Well xxxx me, Southend only went and, done it.
My wife and , myself both had shaky knees while the pens were being taken, talk about the highs and lows of a game, man that was emotional.

As for those people that left early, why? You pay very good money to see your team play, and then leave early to beat the rush, why? - some may have a very valid reason, but not all.
At one point I thought it was just going to be the 6-8000 loyal Roots Hall fans left in the ground.
But that is neither here are there, what matters is,
We Done it, and done it in true style.

How could anyone leave early... What happened yesterday simply doesn't happen! It's the sort of thing that will be remberes forever even by neutrals watching at home on tele. It's never ever boring being a southend fan!

Sitting down with 3 minutes from the end, all I was thinking about is to stay and applaue the players off for their efforts & character to get that far & thinking of playing Orient, Barnet & Dag & Red again and thinking it's not that bad, more derbies & more southern League 2, until the Pig got fed!!

Freddy was sat just in front of my wife and he left a minute before the goal. He wasn't seen rushing back in when we scored!

In a weird way after the sheer elation of the 123rd minute equaliser, it actually took the pressure off the penalty shoot out a little bit. It became almost like a bonus, a second chance if you like, and I wouldn't have been that gutted had we lost the shootout.

Had we lost on penalties after a 0-0 I would have been absolutely distraught, but I think had we lost on penalties after that equaliser I would have been alright with it.

Though I must admit I am reasonably happy we didn't lose the shootout

To be fair quite a few of them leave before the final whistle anyway!

I've never left early from a game and never will, but I can understand it if you are 3 or four goals down, BUT at only 1-0, WHY?

two quotes I love:

As the late great Bill Shankley said, "it only takes a second to score a goal!"

unknown Wycombe fan 23-5-15 "Last minute! Last Minute!"

Shame on you anyone who left early!! (with the exception of people with work commitments).

That Wycombe fan's quote is well on its way to iconic status - the SUFC version of "Some people are on the pitch..."! The club should use it in merchandise, I'd buy a t-shirt with that on
