Hands Off GSM.

I can’t see that being an attractive move for Gus. Incredibly long way from home and a team bottom of League Two. I still think he could leave in January but don’t think it’ll be there.

I’d actually be more worried if Col Ewe were willing to chuck £100k-£150k at us.

Decent player when on the front foot, but I think defensively he has probably reached his level. A team struggling as much as Carlisle wouldn't gain much from this signing in my opinion, and I don't think he would gain much by going there either. They seem to be in free-fall, and being on the back foot week-in week-out would be tough for someone who wants to push higher up.

I don't think many would be looking at him if it wasn't for his golden streak.

No money in the world could tempt me to move to f ** king Carlisle
It's a decent enough city but almost every away match involves a long journey for the players. Carlisle United are really struggling this season - it's a long, long time since they were in the top division.

I can see them trying their luck with a jar of coins

I think Gus would be disappointed if this was his only offer in January, bearing in mind he was watched by the same Championship club on three occasions (that I know of).

I don’t necessarily think Gus would be/is in a rush to leave, but he is a sellable asset.

As I said before, it’s a shame his purple patch was at the start of the season as opposed to the run up to the January window, as I think we’d have secured a bigger fee for his services.

I’d be absolutely shocked if we were able to get a six figure sum for him.

I love Gus to bits, but he is an average (at absolutely best) defender and knowhere near good enough for the Championship. League Two is probably his ceiling, and there is no shame in that whatsoever, I wish that was my ceiling when I was younger.

He's had a couple of decent seasons and started this season on fire with 9 goals but seems to have gone off the boil.

Would give Wind a chance and i believe he is more than capable of slotting into that position.

It would also give those that may be tempted to sign for us to be able to see the potential in playing in a team that could showcase their skills to a wider audience. I'm more than happy if a player comes stays for a season or two and puts in a performance to enable them to move onto a club further up the pyramid.

I think he will stay we are not in a bad position for a play off spot rather push for that sign for a team fighting for relegation

100k and a mid table league 2 side would be good for all, we can hopefully buy the next "wind" and another striker that scores goals.

must be quite a weird state of flux for COSU, aiming for sustainabilty, 100k would be on paper a nice fee for the club to invest in players, but then they've spent 4 million just getting their feet under the table so 100k seems a piffling amount.

Meh, goals aside early in the season been a tad underwhelming since. As pointed out by others we have his replacement already here. If we make a few quid on him good luck and thanks for your obscene commitment to my football club.

I love GSM but I doubt we’d get a big fee for him sadly. He’s a decent player, but aside from the early season goals, I’d say he’s fairly limited?

Carlisle are a club that have benefited from there only being 2 relegation slots in L2, they've been circling the drain for a few seasons.

I can see him leaving in Jan but not for more than 25K to a mid table L2 team
