George Moncur

Moncur's whole issue was that he wouldn't be allowed to play in the true 10 role, our system simply doesn't allow for that. Adapting to a new role never seemed an option for him.

He's never played in LCM or RCM in his entire career and obviously struggled with it, as we saw.
This is spot on. Someone challenged me when I said he wasn't played in the right position. Number 10 is the right position not a central mid and especially not in a 532

Which begs the question, why sign him if we weren't going to give him freedom in a 10?

Hardly going to learn new tricks entering the latter years of his career. Reckon he'll hang up the boots in 2-3 seasons max.

We can't play him as a 10 and Coker in the same team without having the other midfielder needing to handle two runners all the time and I would rather continue to try and develop Coker.

We did play him as a 10 and then it was deemed too negative as only one up front.

If we do want to play a midfielder as a 10 then it needs to be someone with legs. Jack Payne had legs, Nick Haughton has legs. Those ships have sailed. Jack Wood has legs but we all know he isn't ready 🤪

Never looked like scoring here, surprise surprise, goes elsewhere that doesn’t play Maherball and scores……says it all!

Watched some of the game, was open and fairly entertaining, the usual dross at times that you expect at this level with players failing to make simple passes.. but, on the other hand some good expansive attacking play. We are obviously better than both of these sides but they looked more dangerous and exciting than we ever do? Typical Moncur scores and looked dangerous with good attacking intent..

Subbed on 75 mins with score 1-1. I reckon he'll be glad at being subbed - ref has somehow given 14 mins of added time. Commentators are perplexed at that.
