Looks like the popularity of boxing is growing and ITV are now jumping on the bandwagon. They have a new PPV channel and their first fight will be Chris Eubank Jr vs Renold Quinlan for the IBO world super middleweight title.

http://www.itv.com/news/2016-12-13/chris-eubank-to-fight-renold-quinlan-live-on-itv-box-office/

This will be an absolute joke and proves how much of a farce PPV is. Also Eubank Jr moving up to super middle is laughable. He's obviously scared of the talent in middleweight and decided it's easier at super middle. Not as many great fighters at super middle so he's looking for an easy ride. Can't see many in middleweight that he beats.

£20 to watch Chris Eubank Jr fight a ****ing bum. And to top it off all the undercard fights are free to watch on ITV4. Good luck with that one you absolute jokers!

Snr reckons he's going to get 6 million buys.

To put that into perspective the highest number of PPV sales was 4.6 million for Mayweather vs Pacquiao!

Heres the key points to consider;

- IBO isn't a real title,
- His opponent isn't a real world champion
- this will be the first PPV event to be held in a leisure centre
- £20 for PPV is more expensive than Sky PPV

It's all farcical, but at the same time I admire the Eubank's cunning business mind. They're selling snake oil for a decent price, and genuinely couldn't give a ****.

Where'd you read Pac-Floyd got 4.6m buys? The existing record was Hatton-Mayweather at 1.2m buys (IIRC) I knew Floyd-Pac would be high, but selling 4 times more than Hatton-Floyd seems incredible.

I've heard both Gareth A Davies and Frank Warren mention it.

IBF now saying that Haye is edging closer to a title shot. I genuinely feel sorry for other heavyweights who haven't fought two bums and have their next fight against a Cruiserweight! The IBF are becoming just like the WBA an absolute joke, the belt should've never have been in Joshua's hands anyway. That belt belongs to Fury pre meltdown.

I've heard the same, it's off. Not before time really.

I've also heard that the rumour was started by a group of gobby bellends who run a boxing podcast. I do find it odd there has been no real promotion for this 'huge' PPV though from ITV.

Just seen on the BBC Breakfast News that the tickets for the Joshua V Klitschko fight at Wembley will be fought in front of a post war record crowd, apparently over 80,000 tickets have already been sold & Sadiq Khan has given permission to raise it to 90,000 tickets after having spoken to rail companies about fans getting to and from the stadium.

Anyone watch the Frampton vs Santa Cruz fight last night? I missed it as I was in a&e.

Yeah decent fight. I scored it 114-114, but can't argue too much with the outcome, because some of the rounds were near impossible to split. Frampton was good in places, landing some great shots, but his work just wasn't consistent enough over the 12 rounds.

Frampton - excellent in dribs & drabs.
LSC - not as good as Framptons best work, but highly competent, aggresive & consistent throughout

Also noteworthy from the Frampton/LSC fight, Adam Smith got a quick interview with Mayweather, he confirmed he's returning to the ring, and also said he expects the Connor McGregor fight to happen, as he's been guarenteed the fee he wants

Edit; just seen PaddyPower have given 1/3 that the fight DOES happen, and automatically installed Floyd as a 1/8 favourite, with McGregor at 9/2

What an absolute circus event! It will involve Mayweather making McGregor look very stupid very quickly.

Didn't watch the fight last night but what I can say is Eubank Jr will get his arse handed to him if he gets in the ring with BJS, GGG, Jacobs, Canelo or Ward! To go 10 rounds with someone who has only had 11 professional fights is embarrassing. Especially when they had the odds for a Eubank win as 1/100.

Shame about Price, that's way too many set backs for him. No chance he will get himself any decent bouts now.

Alright gang. Im presenting a new boxing show on the station I have worked o for a while. Tonight, we interviewed Ricky Burns. If you fancy a listen, tonight's show can be found here:

http://www.phoenixfm.com/2017/02/05/seconds-out-episode-seven-ricky-burns-live-in-the-studio/

Had a listen Matty, very good! Ricky Burns is a genuinely nice guy I've heard him on various podcasts and in interviews and he always comes across well. I will be listening to this on a regular basis to add to all my other shows I listen to.

If you need boxing experts on me, GBJ and Blue_wes will happily oblige.

Watched the Gavin McDonnell fight last night was gutted for the lad. Vargas was a class above though and from the early rounds it looked like Gavin stood no chance. Vargas deserved that win and how one of the judges scored that a 114-114 is beyond me! I had Gavin winning the last 4 rounds and Vargas winning the first 8.

Wilder got a 5 round TKO win against Washington in a pretty easy fight for him. 38-0 now with no one really of any stature on his record. Time to step up! Now Hearn is talking about Whyte vs Wilder not sure how I call that. I would say Wilder but again it's hardly a step up. Also talks that he may fight Breazeale after he won on the undercard.

So next weekend is the 'highly anticipated' LOL! Haye vs Bellew PPV (again LOL!). Not really a lot doing it for me on this. It's all getting a bit boring now and is just a bit of an exhibition fight. It's almost like a charity match when they get two famous people to fight. Total mismatch and doesn't deserve my cash so I will be streaming this one. I'd say Haye to KO Bellew within the first 4 rounds. If Bellew manages to go past 6 rounds then hats off to him!

And the big news of today the Pac Man has announced his next fight. A 'super fight' against Amir 'Glass Jaw' Khan on the 23rd April. This will either be in the UAE or the U.K. Khan yet again just chasing that payday and happy for his reputation as the getting knocked the **** out king to continue. Pacquiao hasn't had a knock out win for many years now, that will all change on the 23rd April.

Didn't watch the card on Saturday as I'm not interested in the McDonnell's and I can't stomach Tommy Coyle. Meh

Wilder is there for the taking. An easy nights work for the current best HW's. Hearing talk about his next fight being a rematch against Stiverne :zzzzz: No wonder he's becoming more & more irrelevant to the elite level.

Personally I don't mind the Khan-Pac fight. I think Khan has Manny's number aswell, via a points decision. Pac is a shell of his former self, and although he's looked OK-ish in his latest fights, he's a world away from the Pac who dominated the 147lbs division 7-8 years ago. Being the younger & dare I say, sharper of the two, I fancy Khan to beat him to the punch & win rounds with that amateur points-scoring style of his.

And also gotta add, on a personal level, hahahahahahaha Eddie Hearn must have cried his eyes out when he heard this. Brook has to face an incredibly tough mandatory, whilst Khan once again picks up a multi-million pound deal, against one of the biggest names of the sport. Brook has always ALWAYS needed Khan, more than Khan needed Brook, and Khan continues to flaunt that in the most exquisite way possible. And even more worrying for Brook, If he was to lose against Spence, (which is very possible) and Khan beats Pac, (which is very possible) then Khan-Brook will be as far away as it ever has been. And Eddie will have to use his $5m offers, to wipe away the tears
