Yes - this is boring - we haven't had a new signing for at least 1 hour ......... what an earth are they doing at the club - sitting and drinking tea all day.

I get the impression that that will be it for today. I reckon the third player is Ryan Cresswell and things still need to be sorted out with Rotherham before he completes his move.

No need - Leonard, Timlin, Bilel, Kane, Hurst and Hall would be my starting midfield (not necessarily right to left in that order mind ..........) with all players rotating in and out of midfield to attack depending on possession .......... ooopps - silly me - this way we would always have possession ........

What about a central defender?!? ........ "people" are always looking for more strikers when I think we need more defenders ........ you can tell where I used to play .......

Cp has confirmed to me that this is it for today. Wonder if by signing Tomlin this spells the end of signing Fred. Defo think that cresswell will sign and as said by others another cm must be priority. Do we assume that pg isn't in ps plans and that either prosser or barker would be cover for straker?

Someone watched too much Spain in Euro 2012 :)

One big difference in the teams is they have players who can pass the ball. I cant name one of our central players who I would say is creative and good at passing the ball.

Lets not get onto the differences between the Spanish national side and Southend United. The season starts in August!

We've been linked with Tomlin for a while, last summer and January we were linked and we may even have spoken to him a couple of years ago so I would be suprised if his signing would dampen our interest in Freddy.

Pleased to sign Tomlin, he'll bring more pace to the team (along with Straker). Doubt he'll be first choice though (unless the unthinkable happens and Hall leaves), but would be a great option from the bench to replace a tiring Freddy Eastwood...

The list of players we have had with no end product is long and distinguished!!!

Back-up could be Kalala and Dailly (or however you spell his name) plus we then have Leonard and possible Bilel if we really get hit by injuries, suspensions and/or diarrhoea .........

Possibly the worst back up we have ever had if that is the case....
