Ticket News Gateshead (a) - Mon 5th May 2025

We are a funny old lot, us football fans. Watch the amount of fans that will moan their heads off if COSU were to charge £450 for a season ticket next year, yet plenty will spend £100- £200 nicker on one game! Then probably spend near enough the same again for the next two playoff games and probably even more than that for the final. I just hope that people don't moan about COSU if prices are put up to reflect inflation because as this shows, fans are more than willing to find the money.

I am saving myself for the actual play offs (if we get there) for the following reasons:

1: Gateshead stadium is by far the worst in the league with no roof and a ridiculous running track around it just doesn't do it for me.

2: Train tickets are a joke (great way to entice people to use public transport isn't it).

3: I have been there/seen it/done it when it comes to these all important games, where we take a great following only to be let down on the pitch. I am not saying this will happen, but the longer serving fans will feel my pain when it comes to these scenarios with Southend.

1. Yes - Gateshead is a stadium & not a football ground like Roots Hall. Just as bad as when Rotherham were at the Don Valley or Brighton at the .......... I've forgotten the name.

2. Train tickets are pricey especially if not bought well in advance/used with a discount card. As I understand it the train network we have is full to capacity ........ hence all the discussions about whether a high speed line out of London was the best approach.

3. Ah yes - I recognise that. What can we do though? Not go & miss out on a marvellous memory? Tricky.

the last point is very true many times I have watched the blues playing away with a fantastic following and many more times let down by the teams poor performances but being so inconsistent all season is why we are not further up the table hopefully a win on Monday will give the fans something to shout about and make that very long journey back to sarfend worthwhile COYB

This is it we have had nothing to cheer about the last so many years, atleast this game has something on it and if we lose we lose, just to be there on such an occasion we be epic.

Anyone wanting to go by train a two together railcard costs £30 but would pay for itself as you get a third off this and all other journeys (such as the playoffs) you do together for a year.
If you do a group booking 3 or more people, you get a group saver discount approximately 1/3 off normal ticket prices.
Just offering some alternative. Plus you don’t need £30 sobs for a railcard.

Exactly. The NB after the game on Saturday was bloody mental. Took us ages to get out (thankfully I was with the last Boy Scout, so he got us out eventually).
It brought back memories of 2005/06 season. Felt so good to have a buzz back!

This is why i think we might sell out at Gateshead and RootsHallBloke (RHB) thinks i'm nuts, not had anything to get excited about for years have we. Thats at least the 2nd game that the singing has continued after the match in that stand.
We hunger for success, the Blue Army is mobilised !
