Think you are getting some of facts mixed up with the Newport game in the 2nd round. I recall they had several fans who spent over a week walking here from south wales with buckets collecting loose change. If you think about it as the exeter replay was only 2 days after we played there, any fans who decided to walk would have probably not got as far as weston super mare in 2 days!.

You know, I originally wrote this response down as the Newport game but couldnt remember whether it was Exeter or Newport, I decided for the sake of the thread that I would go for Exeter! 50/50 guess I suppose, but seeing as you remember it so well, I will bow to your memory being better than mine! I was very young then!

I have recently been given a bag of photos from my late Mothers house and can advise that I have quite afew from behind the scenes at the Hall during the 70's so, if SP wish to contact me regarding these for inclusion in a publication, please do so. I have also been thinking about writing an account of my late Father, who saved the club from extinction in 1975 by mortgaging our family home etc. Again, if SP are interested, please IM me.

As Glasgow just said .. i know for a fact that SP would be more than interested in helping you get this idea off the ground .. they have a profile set up on here, so you could PM Dave, or just send me an email and i'll pass it on

As for the second bit ?? thats called selective memory, and there aint anything wrong in that !!!!

My problem is twofold. Firstly i spend on average 2-3 days a week travelling the u.k. in my capacity for the company i work for.

Secondly, i do not have a computer indoors and use the companys one for all my e-mails and correspondence on this site, which says a lot as to how busy we are at present!. I have however submitted another recollection of a trip watching the Blues to Tranmere/Liverpool in 1975 which Uxbridge Shrimper may put up within a few days.

That fits in with my recollections too, I Think we played all 3 South wales Sides in the cup in 2 seasons (Cardiff and Swansea the season before)

Was it Cricko?

Wasn't Cricko born 36?

Oh come off it. Even in the 70s Cricko was picking up his pension.

Errrrrrrrr Excuse me you bunch of reprobates...:finger: ..I thought there was a guy called Paul Facey or something similar about in those days ...Ahhhhhh The good old days when Harry was even youthfull and Canvey had females living there;) .....

Top Story BBBL. Keep them coming ...:)

That, as well as another piece by canveyshrimper, is in the pipeline for the coming weeks - thanks gents. Any other stories gladly received! From a personal point of view, these ones from the 70s are particularly interesting as that was the era when my Dad was following SUFC all over the country.

Also, if anyone is able to do a Hartlepool report this Tuesday night, then please PM me.

I love reading stories like these ... i've often thought about writing-up one of my lots days out ... but then again i forget everything after 30 minutes .. quite how BBBL can recall this after 30 years is staggering to me !!!

Apparently the drugs were not as strong in the olden days !!
