From todays Echo

I fear this will be the first in a long line of knockbacks this summer, which will evidently lead to us panic buying in the last week and buying players we don't really need and don't improve the squad at all, a la Harrold.

Nah, Tilly will ONLY buy players that are better than we already have...

to be fair it was Essex Intermediate....but i'm just being picky:D

Yes you are very right however, ensign have worked the way up the leagues and he was banging in goals in the boro comp with them

just being picky doe:D

bit dissapionted about that TBH i faught that he would of come to southend, because we are local and in a higher league?. I still think we can find some more talent in the lower leagues.

Just look what happend with Paul Benson, was playing boro comp football when daggers picked him up.
And from what I've heard it's probable that we'll get a chance to see if Paul can play at our level next season as I believe there's a deal in the offing which may see him go to a club in L1.

Hope so, as it's nice to see a local boy get a chance to go from strength to strength. :)

I believe that club could be Luton - they were rumoured to be swooping in January, but probably thought a leap to the CCC was too much...
