Cyril, let them know the standard that you are looking for so that they can strive to acheive it!

I don't think a couple of Michelin stars is too much to ask!

I only eat at Roots hall in an emergency, namely when I have been drinking or if I go straight to a midweek match after work and then I only ever eat a pie, a pasty or in extreme conditions a hot dog.

I think more people (not me!) would use the catering facilities if:

1. We saw the return of the bacon roll.
2. There were more pies on sale.
3. The tea and coffee were in bigger cups.
4. The service was better. Long queues discourage punters.

How? Did you just buy yourself a ticket and make them stand outside and wait for you?

<span style='font-family:comic sans ms'>Exactly, the prices then you could do that for a fiver (besides, leaving some of the gals from Basildon outside, they could pick up some money while you enjoy the film...)

It's have had a standing joke for 2 years with one of the East serving ladies about the lack of bloody pies, how hard is it to meet your demand ?

Why in gods name did they take off Bacon Rolls from what iv seen on here over the years people loved um !

Durera, I don't think many people mind the odd increase thats business and football but when you charge £15 to watch a cr*p non league side in a training match your taking the ****.

The simple answer, sadly, is to don't go to the home games.  We do have a selection of 3 or 4 local away pre-season matches and it's doubtful that non-league clubs will charge the same as Southend.

It's a case of supply and demand.  Once Southend realise that demand for the pre-season games will be virtually zero at their prices, next year would mark a major re-think in pre-season pricing.

Missing a glorified training session at the Hall surely wouldn't hurt people, and if the result of non-attendance would be more reasonably priced pre-season matches from next season onwards the end may justify the means.

I found a piece of used chewing gum in my bacon roll once.

Unsurprisingly I haven&#39;t braved Roots Hall catering since.

D&amp;R are charging full price for their match against us

I think the situation regards to the pricing is a difficult one. We all DEMAND improvements on the pitch, we want promotion, we want players that can give us a good chance of acheiving that, we want our players on 2 year deals and the club has to pay for our wants. Unfortunatley it is US who have to pay for the better players, 2 year deals, etc.

This comes in any form that the club can muster Advertising, Merchndise and tickets.

It is exactly the same as the f**king huge hole that is left in my wages every month when the chancellor dips his sausage in batter fingers in and takes his Tax to pay for the improvements in Education and NHS.

My point is if we want to move forward as a football club we have to pay for it as we dont have any Romans.

Now this is where it becomes difficult becuase i think the club have missed a trick in attracting a few people to pre season friendlies that may just want to return to the hall this season. I would have had the Hall packed to the rafters for the Home friendlies even if it cost us the club a little, maybe £10 for 3 home friendlies or something ridiculous because those extra people going would have seen the Hall at its best with Atmosphere and its then a very enjoyable place to be and if the boys deliver on the pitch then those people may just come back?

As i say its a difficult call, do you go for the Dollar like the club have done which i dont blame them for or do you use it as an excersice to reward to loyal supporters and encourage some new?
