Friendly games ticket prices

Don't worry fellow shrimpers!

Just take great comfort in the fact that your well earned £10 & £12's are going to a good cause!

We can help line solicitors pocket further due to the witless decision by the club to counter sue Wignall!

How to win friends and influence people by Ron Martin & Geoffrey King!

Just to add my concerns.

£34 to see the three games in ten days, plus Mrs Artful means 68 quid from my wallet. No discount for season ticket holders, no chance to buy a block ticket for all three games at a discount?

maybe we get a free programme? a concessionary beer token?

It does seem a bit steep particularly when these sort of games could attract people if they were cheaper, and may give the fickle fan some optomism? that they'll come back.

I actually wrote to messers Martin & King on this very subject at the time the seaso prices were published.

I suggested that as the club took our money so early perhaps our loyalty could be repaid by discounted friendlies and cup games.

What came back was the biggest load of b******s I have ever read!

Still at least this time they did bother to reply!

Simple really. Also means the club get the money upfront.

That would fcuk up our future cash flow though!

I know alot of clubs offer a shirt token where you get % of the new home/away shirt. Or offer 1-2 pre seasons free or some other incentive to reward the loyality.

What do we get for our £340 ?

Don't give me this cr*p about the club needing the money. Of this debt are we paying any of it off. Because i was lead to believe the debt is basicly the loans from Delencey and the rent from RH which we can never pay off.Im sure alot of us pay a staggering amount in shirts, tickets, away matches so don't tell me we arn't given enough. There is a line of making money and ripping off your supporters and i fear the club have crossed it.

We are not the only club in debt, yet alot don't choose to rip off fans the way our club are seemingly doing.

A question for those who moan about the London clubs luring potential fans away. What do you expect ?

And pigs will fly !

That will never happen under our properly developing friends, far too much to hide.
Relations at the moment are very healthy between club and Trust- long may this continue!

I would be interested to see how we rank amongst other third division teams when it comes to ticket prices, friendly prices, shirt prices etc.

I am willing to bet that our prices are similar to most clubs in the division.

One thing is certain!

Our ticket prices will be cheaper than Fat Bastid King charges for their games at home!

Don't the club shop give 10% off everything for season ticket holders?

She doesn't work in the Shop anymore.

Don't forget you also get 5% Discount if you are a Member of the Trust

Its a fine line for the club , because they are desperatley trying to make a profit and appease the fans. Unfortunately they are only looking at the home pre-season matches to make money. We as fans are looking at the bigger picture (ie) away frendlies aswell. The prices are steep and i for one am not happy , but considering the signings we have made i am willing to dig deep for the coming season. If however we are in the bottom half playing badly come christmas i will begrudge paying £16.50 for a home game!! Like i said its a tight rope , but personally i fell the club has come on leaps and bounds and is much more than just a football club in terms of matchday entertainment and overall professionalism. And i think we will average 5000 a game next year because of this. Maybe i am wrong ,but thats my view on the subject!!

Got to agree with you there.

I would be more impressed if they improved the standard of the catering facilities though.

He continues to interact with this forum and I would be interested to hear, through him, why the club feel it's right to charge this much to watch players practise.

I'm not blaming him for the policy but he is uniquely placed to form a conduit between club and fan.

The sooner the club get a Trust representative on the Board the better, in my opinion.
Mick,

I will bring the fans' concerns to the powers that be ........

..... thank you.

OK, the club will here some of the views. Problem is, the club's not going to spend too much time on pricing friendlies.

FWIW, I reckon that the prices for the friendlies should be the same as the cheapest part of the ground (RBS), and the fact that it's more expensive and for most (if not all) of the games the RBS won't even be open is a frustration.

However, the non-league and lower league clubs are going to want a bit of cash as well. FM brings up Cambridge (again, I note...), however the contract between the two clubs (Cambridge & Brighton) may be entirely different to the one that SUFC has with Brighton.

It's also worth noting that the club usually only provides a blanket charge for cup games - why? Because the logistics for different pricings is no doubt a pain in the rear. If that's the case, why should we expect much time to be taken in sorting the prices for pre-season friendlies.

ps It ****es me off everyone banging on about the rising costs of watching football. It's not just football, it's the entertainment industry as a whole that's raised dramatically. Ten years ago you'd be able to go to the cinema for a date and still have change from a tenner (often a fiver if they were a cheap date (I grew up in Basildon so this was more often that not the case for the local gals!)!). Try and get much change from a score if you get drinks and nibbles now.

Whilst it is a good idea to have a trust member on the board, why would anyone want to beacome a member of a board of a potentially insolvent club. Obviously the definition of insolvent can be read many ways, but the club has large debts which if enforced today they could not repay. Any potential trust member willing to act would need to have certain indemnities and warranties from the current board and be very careful of their involvement at board level
