Friendly games ticket prices

Bigdel

Coach
Is it just me or are the friendly ticket prices stupid prices,it would cost me £ 50 with my son to go and watch the games over a nine day period ?

Surely s/t holders could have been given a free ticket to one of the games,or even better lower the prices as we know no one will go out on a limb in these games.

RM/GK once again will come up with an excuse why these prices are high.Another own goal by the club

Come on 'McScrivs' can you sort that out with the club, who want to pay £10 for a home friendly Vs a 2nd rate conference club?

Would be nice to get a 'joint' price. Adults pay £25 for the 3 games and Concessions/OAP's pay £10.

Simple really. Also means the club get the money upfront.

They are a bit steep aint they considering there only friendlys not really important games. Its weird how its cheaper for a kids ticket to see an important leauge game than a meaningless friendly

Ticket prices for the "prestige" friendlies:

Price for One Adult + Child for League match £13.50p

Price for One Adult + Child for friendly against non-league £15

Price for One Adult + Child for friendly against league teams £18

It's not "weird" it's disgraceful. Children free with paying adult wouldn't hurt. Season ticket holders half-price wouldn't hurt.
£20 for an adult £5 for a child to cover all three, perhaps?

McScriven, rather than going on about barely existant abuse of new players (virtually everything I've seen about the Bart signing has been positive) perhaps you could try and defend a policy which sees the club trying to take £51 off a supporter who wants to bring his son/daughter to these friendly matches over the space of 10 days.

I think that some people on here need to realise that dave only works for the club on an editorial basis (unless i've missed something) and i doubt that anything that he says or suggest's , holds a lot of sway with the people that make decisions for and on behalf of the club , leave the guy alone and let him get on with his job .

He continues to interact with this forum and I would be interested to hear, through him, why the club feel it's right to charge this much to watch players practise.

I'm not blaming him for the policy but he is uniquely placed to form a conduit between club and fan.

The sooner the club get a Trust representative on the Board the better, in my opinion.

And pigs will fly !

That will never happen under our properly developing friends, far too much to hide.

Agreed with Mick, its a total disgrace. Why not STH half price or dare i say it free, Kids for a quid and Adults £6 quid

When I first joined this forum at the beginning of the month (June), I mentioned Supply v Demand in relation to football support & was pretty much laughed at...

OK, I agree that the principle doesn't work everywhere & the results will always differ. BUT, contrary to opinion, human behaviour rarely changes at all when it comes to pricing...

I also mentioned that the club should look at where it should price its product to best fit with other members [clubs] of the Division, which I believe it has done.

However, this does not alter the fact that a 12,000* seater stadium is far less than 1/2 full on matchdays because people look at the overall cost and consider it too expensive to attend week in / week out.

This is a shame, because the atmosphere is fantastic when the "Hall" is full and the players respond to it!!!

* Soon to rise to 16,000 seats with the new stadium of course, [what will the pricing structure be then and how many fans will the new stadium attract, if we are already so fickle?]

No surprise there then !

For what its worth i agree. You have to look at what your giving your customer. If you take away the what ever performance die hards. What is a guy off the street get for his £16 ?

Good standard of football ? Well mostly no apart from the odd game. Its nitty gritty up in the air 'basement ball' from a club who has slide down the football league and nearly went into Non league.

Great players ? What do you get for your £16 ? Whilst you get some reasonably good players for this level its hard to find really good performers that could do it at Div1 level.

Great atmosphere ? Nop, as you say 3-4,000 in a 12,000 all seater stadium

Great view ? Unless you get a good seat in the South Upper nop. The West & East have many supporting pillars.

Now i personally will go even if we hit the conference but in terms of getting others in. I don't think ull do it for £16.

I shudder to think what we will charge in a new stadium we already charge £340 at the Hall.

Pre season we should be trying to drum up support not charge £15 quid to watch a training match.

Im sorry if i seem so negative, Im trying to look at it from a non Southend POV.

Mick,

I will bring the fans concerns to the powers at be but I suggest you also send an email to info@southend-united.co.uk expressing your concerns.

In that case Dave could you find out what burgers we will have next year, the loo in the gents is blocked, the grass on the pitch could do with a cut and in your lunch hour could you re paint the white lines on the car park............. come on Guys Dave can only do what the rest of us could do tell the club that some of the supporters are ****ed off at the prices for the pre season games if the prices are to high and only 200 fans turn up for the pre season games then the club might just say we f**ked up, make a note and not do the same again the following season,,,,, not sure that this will happen

That's rubbish, NB, and you know it.

It's common knowledge that it is the Trust's job alone to tell the club how supporters feel.

And Dave's.

The rest of the supporter's should moan about it, complain amongst themselves, but not do a thing more and expect things to happen 'as if by magic'.

That would fcuk up our future cash flow though!

So when i said i think the price of a ST was too high for "League 2", i was shot down - "the club are in debt", "the club need the money", "you don't have to go" etc... Now the same group are whining about the price of a ticket. Well for your information: The club are in debt and need more money, and quite frankly if you don't like the price then don't go!!

I've got to agree with S69 above.

I would suggest that the club are a business and are entitled to try and turn some sort of profit.

These prices seem similar to those of the last few years pre season friendlies.

Perhaps some sort of loyalty scheme for STH may have been in order though but at the end of the day we are all free to vote with our wallets.
