Breaking News Freedman gone back to Palace!

Agreed. Seems like a real gent and intelligent. I thought at times he was absolute quality and far too intelligent for anyone else on the field. Shame about the injuries and age taking their toll.

One goal that Barney beautifully finished earlier this season was worth the admission money alone just to see Freedman's lay-off to set him up. Class we don't usually see from SUFC players.

Good luck for the future, Dougie.

By the way, any truth in the rumour that he only left the club so that he could talk to the Echo?

Good luck dougie.. Would have made a real difference if he hadnt got crocked early on in his time here..Really enjoyed watching how far he was ahead of League one footy even at the end of his career.. Just a shame about that injury, as mentioned we got him a season too late

Good luck to Dougie, wish him all the best. A move he certainly couldn't turn down. He wanted to get into the coaching/management side when his career was at an end, and he has been offered the chance at a Club where he is a legend.

I think most of the stick Freedman got was because what people thought he was on, which people where very far from the mark there. I'm led to believe, Revell was the top earning striker at the Club, and even Betsy was on more than Freedman.

When he first arrived, he was excellent. The performance that ruined his Southend career was a Friday night against Orient when we stuffed them 3-0. He was excellent, but picked up an injury which, in my eyes, he never really recovered from. A times last season, we only had 1 forward to pick from (Remember Cheltenham away) and Freedman being the pro he is played many times when he wasn't 100% fit which made it harder for him to recover from. IF we had the luxury of a few fit forwards maybe Freedman could have got himself fit again, but we didn't have that.

A lot of his good work was behind the scenes. He has helped out with Paterson and Spencer in particular this season since their arrival. He does a lot of good on the training pitch with the younger players and in the past players like Barnard and O'Keefe have both come out in the press and said what a great help he was.

Its a shame we didn't get him a few years earlier.

Best of luck Freedman.

Looks like Dougie has been spending his time on the bench appearing in PS3 games...

If Freedman thinks McCormack is Championship quality I will fellate him live on national television.

It's not that long ago that people were saying that we'd have stayed in the Championship had we had Macca all season. It was more recently still that he formed arguably the best midfield duo in the division with a certain ginger ****.

I've certainly read dafter suggestions on here. I hope it doesn't happen, and I'm sure you'd find it hard to swallow. ;)

McCormack is also half the player, at most, he was three years ago.

Can't say I really understand the hatred for McCormack. We'd miss him massively if he wasn't here.
