Freddy - thank you for all the memories.

Thank you in particular for almost making me faint with joy for scoring the goal at the Millennium Stadium that sent us on the way to promotion - and then repeating the feat twice against Swansea less than a year later.

Good luck wherever you end up - and remember, this is where the hard part starts. This is where you now have to work your socks off to prove to everyone what we already know: you are an awesome talent, and you deserve to be in the Premiership.

You are truly a favoured son of Southend now - and no matter what may lie on the difficult road ahead, you will always be loved by the Roots Hall faithful. Come and say hello again some time!

The words hero and legend are bandied around these days, but Freddy Eastwood deserves those labels and more - simply the best player I have ever seen pull on a Southend United shirt.

Work hard and get to the very top where you belong. Southend fans have seen an awful lot of dross over the years so we recognise a hero when we see one and rest assured should you ever grace Roots Hall or Fossetts Farm again in an opposing shirt you will be guaranteed a fantastic reception.

Freddy its been good while it lasted through the good and the bad. I will always remember the celebrations at the play off final, the celebrations of getting in the Championship and also the celebrations after a WONDER goal against Manchester United. I will never forget bumping into you in the Ivory Peg in Chelmsford and you being so good to me. Freddy you will always be my favourite ever Southend United player. In my eyes you are the greatest player to ever play for the club.

I wish you all the luck at Wolves and hope you do get into the Welsh team regularly and I will support you no matter what.

It feels like a child leaving home. You know that it's time but you still want to hang onto them as long as possible.
