Any one read anything on the norwich forums?
Earnshaw was on BBC Norfolk and said he wasn't going anywhere, and that he was happy at Norwich. In my opinion he's a good player, but not that special to have Premiership clubs after him.[b said:Quote[/b] (simac21 @ Dec. 26 2006,20:18)]i heard up in norwich that earnshaw's goin pompey.
eastwood is goin to norwich and they paid extra to have him not play in the next two games!!
Thats not exactly what Earnshaw said. When asked by the BBC reporter if any club was going to put an offer in for him in Jan he replied "I hope so", followed by a pause then " because that will mean I'm playing well". He then went on to add the obliguatory "I'm happy here", etc. The initial reply was quick and then he seemed to want to backtrack out of it a little.[b said:Quote[/b] (royfox @ Dec. 26 2006,20:47)]Earnshaw was on BBC Norfolk and said he wasn't going anywhere, and that he was happy at Norwich. It's not that I'm saying this wouldn't be true but if I was going to make up a rumour, it would be along these lines. It's got typical tabloid journalistic inflation on wage and transfer fee and comes at a convenient time to link Fred to Norwich.[b said:Quote[/b] (Norwichsufc @ Dec. 26 2006,17:59)]Just got back from the game.
The official line is a virus, un-official, a bust up with Tilly and he will be off loaded to Sunderland for £3m with Freddy on £10k a week
agree 100%[b said:Quote[/b] (D62SUBOY @ Dec. 27 2006,10:11)]I too can see Freddy being here after January. For whatever reasons his form this season has been well below par. Put that down to inexperience, lack of service/partnership, just not good enough (yet) etc etc I really can't see a smaller Premiership club putting in a £3m offer or indeed a larger Championship one for that matter. He has struggled all season to deal with the experience of the defenders in this league and as a lot of people have suggested in the past, perhaps this league was a step to far in such a short space of time and perhaps the same can be said of Freddy and he just isn't ready to make that step up to the next level.
On the flip side of that argument though, put him in a squad with a big, strong, experienced target man he can play off and he could well set the world alight. I'm sure that was the reason Ricketts was brought here.
I agree too. He will stay on until they get the right price. I can't see him going this season; Ron Martin would be mad to let him go with us fighting for our lives in The Championship. Plus I do think Freddy likes it at Southend, and he def wouldn't move away from his family.[b said:Quote[/b] (Marky_Gower @ Dec. 27 2006,10:12)]agree 100%[b said:Quote[/b] (D62SUBOY @ Dec. 27 2006,10:11)]I too can see Freddy being here after January. Indeed. I think he'd do better in a team where he isn't perceived to be (or simply isn't) the only attacking threat.[b said:Quote[/b] (D62SUBOY @ Dec. 27 2006,10:11)]I too can see Freddy being here after January. Does this story actually have any truth or substance or is it all hearsay and fabrication as usual ? . What was the bust up about ??, when did Sunderland make their offer?? as Tilly and Martin have both said no offers have been made and no calls recieved since the Man U game and how do you know the tranfer fee? and the finer details of the contract ?. I would have thought if you had heard all these facts that a journalist might have heard them too and put them in print. But there again Im sure you and the chatering classes know far more than the rest of the world. Correction, mate , lots of people ( many of them on here I'm affraid) in lots of places are talking crap crap and more crap.[b said:Quote[/b] (Marky_Gower @ Dec. 27 2006,10:06)]So Watford, Aston Villa, West Ham, Sunderland, Norwich all have 'confirmed deals' for Freddy
Mmm
So someone, somewhere is talking crap
That is very true, but I'd have thought that it wouldn't be too hard for him to do both (ie drop deep when the ball is first knocked forward looking for the knock-back from Bradbury, but get in the middle when the ball is out wide with Gower or Campbell-Ryce). When he first arrived here he combined the two roles, and don't forget that three of his first four goals here were from getting onto balls from outwide and finishing inside the six yard box. Nowadays he seems to want to only score the Hollywood goal.[b said:Quote[/b] (Hong Kong Blue @ Dec. 27 2006,16:56)]Freddy has great attacking instincts - he gets a hell of a lot of stick from you lot for not getting into the box but how does he score most of his goals if its not by hanging back finding some space on the edge of the area?
that's true PS[b said:Quote[/b] (prittlewellshrimper @ Dec. 27 2006,17:27)]Correction, mate , lots of people ( many of them on here I'm affraid) in lots of places are talking crap crap and more crap.[b said:Quote[/b] (Marky_Gower @ Dec. 27 2006,10:06)]So Watford, Aston Villa, West Ham, Sunderland, Norwich all have 'confirmed deals' for Freddy
