Barney is massively injury prone and IMO not the right fit for this team. We do know Freddy is done but I think he'd have been useful on a contract reflecting that he'd be an impact sub with maybe a few starts to cover injuries and suspensions. If not overplayed I think he still offers something

An impact sub should make an impact. Freddy I think scored once after coming on as a sub. Past his sell by date but thanks for the memories first time round, will always be remembered for it

Great shame but I suspected as much when it was announced that Barney had a one year deal.

Clearly we don't need/can't afford both and Barney's probably the better option.
