Great news!!!..............but just a little tear for Roots Hall. That, along with franno's signing, is a great start to the week.......following the recent gloom and concern.

The Echo (as ever) is slightly misleading as it appears to say that we have yet to reach agreement with "those" land owners. If we were not to agree a deal, would the council serve a CPO or would we have to redesign the stadium?

I can't believe their is more posts on what the colour of our away kit will be than this. More important for the kids I guess!

Nope, as far as im aware, the whole reason the decision was further delayed was because there was this issue with the strip of land. I think now as the plans have been passed, a deal has or is due to be completed for this land.

This is incredible news, who would have thought a few years back when we were struggling to stay in the league and getting poor attendances that we would be a fairly decent side and would be moving into a brand new shiney stadium by 2010.

I feel that Ron is definately going to take this club places and am soooooo glad i'll be a part of it for years to come (No i didn't shed a tear while writing this post)

oooooooh alright then i blubbered!

What fantastic news, after 20 odd years of waiting, so many false dawns, and seeing so many other clubs move to great new stadiums its finally happened to us.Well done to everyone concerned and a special thank you to the man who was the driving force behind it all, namely Sir Ron of the Shrimpers.
I hope now one or two players who thought their futures may lie away from southend think again.

great great news here!
if anything it's just reminding people of the brilliant news and future that the club will soon have..
