Football Manager 2011

Cheers
Football Manager 2011 is currently downloading and waiting to take over my life!

Quick warning if you are planning on taking your laptop to somewhere without an internet connection. There is a "play offline" box that you need to tick I think. I may be wrong on this though but seem to remember I had the problem at some stage. It's not really an issue though, it's a simple as opening up steam and then clicking file>go offine I think.

I'm getting inspired to start a new game. My southend got into champs league and then I got bored with no new stadium being built as I couldnt compete financially. Might do a journeyman...

All is working fine offline and online.
And I have now started a SUFC season, and I have Ron's full backing! WAHEY!

Struggling to win at the moment, driving me mental, and I actually couldn't sleep last night going through tactics in my head! ha

Guessing you're playing as southend. Since the last update, they are a lot harder to get results with as a few players have been downgraded. You made many signings?

Nope missed the deadline haha!
I think I might start a new season with someone goodish so I can get used to it, because I haven't won yet!
Any tips I'd appreciate it, because it's possible if I don't get a win soon, I might do some uni work!

To truly get the most out of the game you have to familiarise yourself with the tactics engine, including individual player instructions. Individual instructions are key, IMO.

Cool, I have started a new season with Chelsea to get used to all the tactic engine and training and everything to make it a bit easier.

Due to the Russian season being during summer, some quite strange instances occur in the game, such as selling places without being able to replace them. Hazard has been sold to Liverpool above my head for £27m, double what we purchased him for 6 months previously. He only played 12 times. Ever so slightly frustrating but good business.

I started an unemployed career game, and got Chesterfield, who were bottom in October, when I got the job.

First season, took them up via play-offs after a cracking run of form at the end of the season.
Second season, got promoted via play-offs again.
Third season, survived in the championship, and missed out on the play-offs in my next season.

In my fifth season in charge, things got interesting. Started off well, was in the top 3 half way through the season, but some big clubs came in for my players, and with the chairman accepting offers for some key players (a ST regen with 16 goals in 22 games and Assulin), and didn't put any of the £8.5m back into the transfer funds, I loaned back the ST regen that I had solded. Eventually won the league, yet my chairman insisted on selling a few more players and not putting it back into the transfer funds. With the maximum wage that I could offer being £18k a week, not much in the Premiership. The players who I had on loan either signed new deals or moved to clubs who offered them bigger wages. Tried to sign Kaka on £18k p/w, but went to another club for £57k p/w.

Into the Premiership, started with 2 defeats and a draw. Not a bad start, then after being dominated against by Man City, got a penalty in the 88th minute and scored, which was our only shot on target. Next game was Chelsea away, 10 minutes in and Balotelli got sent off (don't know why I signed him TBH), and we get thrashed 3-0, with some key players getting injuries. A few months down the line, and still bottom on the Premiership, but Arsenal's boss has resigned and offered me the job. Of course, I accepted, only to find out that I will have to wait until the end of the season until I can officially join them.

This leaves me with a tricky situation, as there are some quality players in my side, and it is tempting to made a bid for one of Arsenal's transfer listed reserves and include them in the deal. Hard one to figure out.

Go and get the Arsenal reserve which was listed, give u the best shot at staying up! If u wanted to manage a bigger club with best training ground .... take the Southend Utd job ... on FM10, Southend Utd always move to Fossett Farm two season after I first started managed them!
