Anyone get Total Manager before? They used a 3D engine.. it was pretty good i thought!

I'm willing to wait as it looks amazing. For me, biggest improvement yet. I've always been a doubter of FM moving into 3D, but that looks amazing. It was jolty but its a 50% make.

I hope the online mode improves, that would be a great improvement IMO.

It no surprise release date is Nov 14th and not 31st October.

The new Bond film is out on the 31st October, and im sure SI games didnt want this release to get lost with that one?

I must say, I've loved the proper Southend squads we've been treated to in the past 2-3 years with youth players etc, so hoping yours is just as good JTSB.

Good to see the transfer system being re-written too.

They have generally been pretty good, but people have had gripes with the former researcher's ratings, such as the over-rating of Clarke, the failure to drastically improve Bailey's ratings at the January research stage last season, the inaccuracy of some of the club records (biggest transfer fee paid, for example). I'm pretty sure I've corrected all of these things, so I'll be gauging opinions on here when it's out!

What with the game coming out so late this year, all transfers should be pretty up to date!

I sent the Southend file off for the last time after editing it a week ago, but I sent SI several emails giving them the details of the Freedman and Laurent transfers, so unless they ignore me and don't put them into the game, then our transfers should be bang up to date.

SI, as a policy, do not incorporate loans that end BEFORE Jan 1st 2009 this year, so don't expect Southend to have Robson-Kanu, Christophe or Sawyer in the game, at least not before the first patch/update, unless their loans get significantly extended.

I don't actually know. SI are having to transfer him to Southend because he joined us after I did the last research and editing phase. My Southend file is now with FM, so I unfortunately don't get to see how good Laurent is.

I'm pretty sure that Freedman will be damn good though!

I just downloaded somebody's homemade database update, and Laurent is listed as a RM with 17 for pace. It'll be annoying if he's the wrong position like Liptak was when he first signed.

I just downloaded the Crystal palace researcher's staff file, and Freedman will be quality for us on the game. He has 116 CA, has a surprising 10 for pace and acceleration, 12s for finishing and composure, 16 for technique......will make a good partnership on there with Barnard, who I've rated at 110 CA.

Good news about Freedman too. Sorts out the striking options. Shame we'll need to replace Mildenhall instantly though, as he's poor on 08 and I doubt you've improved him much!

Speaking of goalkeepers, I always thought Collis was underrated last year, mainly single figures.

Yeah, I have a fair idea of what some of the other L1 researchers' ratings are, and Freedman/Barnard will be in the top 5 striking partnerships in the division on FM09.

I changed Mildenhall a bit. Whacked his CA from 100 to 104:

So he shouldn't be too bad. Not a patch on Flahavan, who was much better, but I don't think he'll need immediate replacing. Joyce, at 93 CA, isn't too far behind and will get better.

It'll start ruining my life earlier than that as I will probably be asked to beta test the game this year.
