Big time, I think ive bid for pretty much every player on the game from championship downwards that look half decent. ive got a couple of decent players in but im finding it impossible to get dome decent defenders in i concead far to many goals.

ah defending, i seem to (rather unintentionally i must admit) be rather superb when it comes to defending, forget about zonal marking...go man marking and on the team instructions page I select a deep defensive line. Getting your set ups from free-kicks and corners right is imperative.

Currently Southend and my players seem to want to score great goals from 20 yards but not score from 6 yards, wait a minute thats what they do in real life

I concede far to many goals from Set plays. Ive noticed from previous saves that if you sit there and change all the settings on set plays it seems to work a bit.

Ill try the more defensive style cheers for that. I need a whole new back line by the looks of things.

I don't really like defending too deep - I find that if you're lacking a bit of pace it can get hard to break out of your own half when you're playing against attack-oriented teams.
If you're worried about your defence then I find that instructing your central defenders not to stay back more when attacking can help.

Mika Aaritalo - Kicks **** in the Championship on the wing, AMC or striker. Finnish, about 90k so you'll need 7.0.2.

Charles Andre Doudin - Another kick **** striker, anywhere from 0 to 100k. Striker.

Lauri Delle Valle - 14, so you won't be able to play him for 3 odd years, but he apparently turns into a quality guy.

John Sutton - From St Mirren, cost 75k or so, kicks ****.

Alan Gow - Cheap as chips, kicks ****.

On The Dugout forum, there's one bloke who's won 158 games on the bounce with Man U, and hasn't lost as a manager since 2011 - Which, given he's in 2023, is saying something.

Not raining on your parade Jay, but I find the PSP / XBox iterations of FM are easier than the PC version for some reason - maybe it's the simplification they had to do.

Woah thats some record. Once you get a good save going i always get in to that scenario of thinking ill play just one more game and then before you know it its early hours of the morning.

Backed up with screenies as well. He's got a super tactic which when you look at it is far too simple to work, but it does. Basic 442 with the wingers' arrows up to AML/R, nothing changed on the Team Instructions except for easy tackling, the right sided CM and fowards both have attacking mentaility as fas it can go, all out creativity and free roles, and the left and right backs push up, but without arrows on the positions screen but that's about it.

Of course, having a 23 year old South Korean regen striker who's only crap stat is crossing at 15 helps.

Make sure all your corners go to the near post and the big ****er is standing there to convert them.

If you're in the Prem, go for Sibierski for 20+ goals. There's a lad called Nygaard further down and anyone over 6ft4 should do it in non-league.

On my latest game I've done better than I have before, Mainly down to some expert (If i don't say so myself) purchases. Having guided Southend to the promised land and enjoyed a Reading style debut season, I found myself in the UEFA cup via the Qualifying stages.... Some great revenue made and I went out and bought some great little gems. My squad lines up as:

Last season, admittedly with thanks to some dreadful tinpot sides in the UEFA Cup Quals., Emilio Nsue bagged 40 goals and Bruno Mezenga 36. Fantastic partnership... Nsue is a fantastic striker and he cost me next to nothing from Mallorca B.

Managed to finish 12th in my first season of the confrence south.
Seem to be doing alright towards the end of the season. Signed Micheal Malcolm and Richard Pacquette then after 4 games i some how managed to snap up Dion Dublin, Marcus Stewart and Steve Torpey. All was going and was scoring goals for fun. Then after a few more games i got a injury to a defender and seemed to lose the majority of my games. Ive got 7 games left and im one place outside the relegation zone.

Its all gone down hill. I dont seem to be creating much chances anymore and the creative freedom bar is up all the way.
