Fire Strikes

bit of a heads up, Essex has a county wide fire strike for the next 72 hours, and Southend goes from 9 pumps to 2,

and i have to put up with 10 firemen sharing my office :'(

Just been past Orsett Fire Station where the picket line look like they want to start a fire so they can warm up.

their retained fireman using our office as a secure station. and they can make their own tea!!!!

if he could, he probably would, unfortunately its classed as mutiny if forces do and a 1 way ticket to Colchester for about 15 years, (now there's a punishment)

Exactly, we don't have any input, no Unions we are just told this is how it's going to be deal with it! So these fire fighters can go **** theirselves as its us who picks up the extra work normally! Do we get paid extra for the extra hours? No we ****ing don't. Overtime? What's that? We don't get it and can be massively over worked a lot of the time doing some seriously crazy hours.

thats in the job description, (i hope) fighting fires, REALLY isnt, unless ya Rif RAF and are a Raf fireperson, nor is driving petrol tankers, or doing security at Olympics :angry:

Yes and what I signed up for has drastically changed without me being able to do anything about. Yes I could leave, but I have nothing to go to outside the military at the moment. I could join essex or (enter other constabulary here) police but no doubt they would chose some fat mess who has a degree and pass their pathetic fitness test over someone who has done the job for 4 years.
