Films you've watched recently.

Thought No Time To Die was a good watch, you had to know some of the previous Bond films to follow the plot otherwise you may find it confusing story line.Great action scenes as always for Bond films. Now that James Bond has been bumped off i wonder what the story line is going to be as 007 is no more.

Spoiler alert!!!

Blackkklansman
Very good and powerful end/credits
Didn’t realise it was based on a true story until after I had seen it
Excellent performance by Adam driver
Funny. while I remember the Chicago 7/Black Panther trial pretty well (1969), like you I don't seem to remember this story getting any publicity in the (UK) media at all.

Watched Dune at cinema was ok.Took a while to get going but got better.Great action scenes and definitely a film for the cinema. The second film part 2 of the book is scheduled for release late 2023.Watched Antlers I liked it had some dark moments but watchable. Set up for possibly a second film

Seen the Bond movie this afternoon. 7/10 for most of it but 10/10 for the 5 minute part by the actress playing the rookie CIA agent in Cuba. She stole the film.

Cinema prices and Meerkat promotion.
We bought a £1 day insurance for a day travel to London and get half price cinema tickets, so saved £11 this afternoon, and can get half price tickets for a year.
It was a Martin Lewis money tip and it is a good'un.

The new Bond film is just average. Too long and over complex. The motives were odd and the characters just dull. Not Craig’s worst but not worth the wait. The only highlight was Hugh Dennis and the action at the start. The Cuba set piece was OK I suppose.

I agree it was dull and overly complex in a manner that left much unexplained AND not Craig's worse to sign off on.
The only highlight is a tough and harsh opinion, some of the car shots and Italian scenery was very good.
Craig and Fiennes looked their ages.

There was the usual preview of up coming releases AND those previewed look poor.

Oh you must have had different previews: I had the new Ghostbusters (looks great); House of Gucci; the new Matrix and the new Paul Thomas Anderson, Licorice Pizza.

The only duff was Eternals.

On reflection, some of the direction was better than average. But then I expect nothing less from Fukunaga.
