All very strange.???
Yeah i see that, i thought they were going to the tea bar but it seemed too early as it was only 28 or so minutes into the first half!

All very strange!!!

Perhaps it was a pre-arranged chavs meeting about going on the pitch at the end of the game, and they had to conduct it in the concourse of the stand.

From where they walked i could see them through the exit of that stand to the far left, then they all turned back and went to where they were sitting!

Boy do i hate chavs!!!
Apparently it was kicking off with the stewards downstairs, and they all ran to help

Luckily i didn't encounter any trouble this time, but have found Cleethorpes a very intimidating place, with plenty of instances of trouble.

And also none of these scum as you call them shrimpboy were involved in anything untoward after the game, myself included as my pregnant girlfriend can vouch for.

Anything that did occur after the game was caused by mindless grimsby thugs intent on attacking innocent blues fans.

I suggest you dont tarnish everyone with the same brush.

Hi Smiffy,
Now I don't want to cause offence by asking this question, I don't know specifically who you are or anything about you & so hence am not able to call you "chav scum".

Was your group the one who got involved in an altercation with a family sitting in Row A of the away end just to the right of the goal, 2 middle-aged parents & late teens early 20s kids (brother & sister)?

Now I didn't see exactly what happened, as it was just after their goal but I think the Dad asked one of the group to move to which he recieved a barrage of abuse & threats. Now, I know Saturday's atmosphere was highly charged but again for the 2nd away match running for a Southend "supporter" to start on a fellow fan to me is just well out of order. The situation was only diffused as the Mum asked one of the "stewards" - I use that term loosely, to step in & prevent any further trouble. I only really noticed this as I had been speaking to said family in The Leaky Boot before the game & none of them could ever be accused of looking for trouble!

If it wasn't your lot, then apologies for thinking it was! And if not, anybody know who they were?

I saw this altercation glasgow while i was standing on the stairs near the yorkie blues.

He is no friend of mine..

In times like that its nice to have someone who will give you a helping hand. Some people on here think that if you talk nicely and act politliy you wont get whacked.
He was there though wasn't he? Or do we have a runaway winner of the Shrimperzone fancy dress competition?
smile.gif
Indeed, he was there. In fact, unless I was very much mistaken, when he went on the pitch at the end of the game he was trying to get the other Southend fans off the pitch, by beckoning them off. That's what I think he was doing, anyway.
I wasn't suggesting he was doing anything wrong, sorry if it came across like that. Saw him in the shops after the game and he was actually one of the only blokes who didn't disappear off down the road when they heard there was a fight kicking off.

I did think he was banned though?

Yes I saw both Ginge an his son there and on the pitch at the end of the game. I am amazed they are not banned. I thought the bans were immediate these days and the police can enforce them.
Still when next season starts I am sure they will not be able to go to anymore games as they will be guests of Her Majesty

Christ, there's sour grapes but this takes it to a whole new level!

Nice to see you lot can call all Grimsby fans "northern scum", "chav scum" etc, call our ground a sh*thole, call our town a sh*thole and say you hope we get relegated. If that isn't a case of the pot calling the kettle black, then I'm a monkey.

If you feel you can judge a whole club, town and everyone of it's inhabitants based on the actions of 100 (at the very most) kids, then there is something seriously wrong with you. Maybe I should tell you about the group of chavs who attacked our supporters coach on the way out of Roots Hall earlier in the season, maybe I should tell you about the group of 10-15 Southend fans who stumbled to the ground after falling out of the Leaking Boot singing about how "Grimsby is a sh*thole" (despite the ground is in Cleethorpes, typical intelligence of a Southend supporter I assume) and how we can "stick our f**king sea front up our arse". Great stuff guys, big thumbs up.

Ok Smiffy, thanks for clearing that up. I only wondered if it was your group as you seemed to take offence when someone posted earlier "that lot down the front."

I take it by the "He is no friend of mine" comment that you know who it was, if so & I'm not trying to get you to grass or anything on who exactly they are, do they post on here?

I'm surprised actually that it's taken until Tues for somebody to mention this incident. Perhaps we're all still too gutted or angry over Sat?

Yeah I gathered that, hope my post didn't suggest otherwise
No not at all glasgow.

Myself and a few others had a word in his shell like after the incident and rest assured he will not be performing such disgraceful acts again....

This isn't even about the football so I've no idea how it was 'sour grapes'.

A lot of rubbish has been said in this thread but we so rarely encounter trouble away from home, I can see why it may have upset people.

I however read his comments in a completely different way. I understood him to mean the "chav scum" were on the right hand side of the stand behind the goal opposite us, ie the home end? You know, the bizarre lot who did this mass walk-out halfway throught the first half? Surely that's who he means, not any Southend fans?

rock.gif
That's exactly what I meant! I thought I made it clear, sorry. I was referring to the home fans behind the goal.
