FC - Week 2

Shearer is turning into a bit of a decent signing, I'm certainly noticing the PFL benefit of having a 6th bowler to take the weight off.

End of Over 50 (2 runs). Broad Street CC: 76-6, runrate=1.52 (1st Inn: 171-10)
Trail by 116 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 363-0 dec)
Shearer 7-2-12-2
Webb* 1 (11 balls)
Thabo 41 (112 balls)

Last Wicket: Von hoesslin c. Lamey b. Shearer 0 (FOW: 65/6)

I thought everyone played 6 bowlers in FC? I've got 5 specialist and one A/R. If I could play an opening batsman as a spinner a la Hick I would as well.

Lovely, a very handy days rest with tough games to come on Friday and Sunday. Bucking the SZ trend by bowling our opposition out for less in the second innings!

And that's the end of the match. ShrimperZone CC won by an innings and 106 runs.

End of Over 57 (Maiden). Broad Street CC: 86-10, runrate=1.51 (1st Inn: 171-10)
Trail by 106 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 363-0 dec)
Sutherland 11-5-7-3
Lukhanyo* 0 (1 balls)

Finished too.

And that's the end of the match. Southend United won by an innings and 39 runs.

End of Over 54 (Maiden). Liverpool Vikings: 154-10, runrate=2.85 (1st Inn: 85-10)
Trail by 39 runs. (Southend United 278-10)
Cahill 12-3-27-5
Macaulay* 3 (26 balls)
53.4 W Cahill to Buxton
Stumped him! Buxton crept down the wicket and missed that one by a mile or more.
53.3 W Cahill to Aji
Wright appeals for leg before... and the umpire is in agreement! Astonishing! Cahill looks rather embarrassed to be given that one!

Liverpool Vikings Southend United
Top Order: wonderful sensational
Middle Order: superb wonderful
Lower Order: worthless abysmal
Seam Bowling: wonderful masterful
Spin Bowling: exceptional useless
Fielding: woeful competent

End of Day 2, and I may have overcooked it a bit by not setting declaration target (never thought I'd score so many runs at such a good run rate!), however have just put my orders in for tomorrow, and have declared on 533 giving me a lead of 251. I've set one of my opening bowlers and one of my change bowlers to attacking so fingers crossed I'll skittle them out before the end of the day, or with enough time to chase a small target.

Am also pleased that I managed to sign an allrounder of sorts today for £1k. Mediocre stamina, feeble - batting, mediocre - bowling, concentration and consistency. Bit of training will improve him so fairly happy.

End of Over 103 (6 runs). The Flying Scotsmen: 533-5, runrate=5.17
Lead by 251 runs. (Peaslake CC 282-10)
Musgrove 19-1-93-0
Ayton* 27 (41 balls)
Rowson 125 (141 balls)

Last Wicket: Salmon st. Ohanlon b. Ardley 19 (FOW: 479/5)

Won by an innings and 152 runs, eventually. Johnson stand out man with 7-56. The rest were shared about. Think i have about 9 bowlers i can use in total, which is very handy.

Kev

Should wrap up the victory sometime this afternoon.

End of Over 32 (4 runs, 1lb). Poetry in Motion: 79-3, runrate=2.47 (1st Inn: 189-10)
Trail by 93 runs. (BATTY SHRIMPERS 361-4 dec)
Schoeman 8-4-9-2
Darby* 7 (41 balls)
Evans 21 (41 balls)

Last Wicket: Bennett b. Schoeman 11 (FOW: 55/3)

My competent bowler who could well be very close to respectable didn't even sell for £1k! His wage is £831 and the wage program says if both his competents were base it would be £536 and if both were max it would be £966 so at the very worst he's at least halfway there. I've listed him again this morning, could be a good buy for you as a trainee Shags.

Peter Constable - 17 yo, BT Rating=5,119
RH Batsman, RH Spin Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, lively fitness.
A steady player with respectable leadership skills and abysmal experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: competent
Batting: worthless Concentration: worthless
Bowling: competent Consistency: mediocre
Fielding: worthless

Good shout B, and certainly better than the RH Spin bowler I currently have.

Have taken 1 wicket this morning (in the 4th over), but would have hoped to have taken at least another 1 by now. 89 overs left!

End of Over 21 (1 runs, 1lb). Peaslake CC: 32-1, runrate=1.52 (1st Inn: 282-10)
Trail by 219 runs. (The Flying Scotsmen 533-5 dec)
Mclaren 11-5-15-0
Tudor* 15 (67 balls)
Nason 5 (48 balls)

Last Wicket: Ohanlon c. Salmon b. Coutts 4 (FOW: 5/1)

EDIT - Just taken another wicket. 8 to go!
