FC - Match 9

MrB

Life President
Dragnets v ShrimperZone CC

Victory this week will pretty much assure me of promotion to II. We visit Yorkshire to play the team in third and today's weather is overcast and cold. Is that bowling or batting weather? Don't see it that often and I seem to recall us discussing it earlier. Think it might be batting weather.

Fortunately they changed their pitch from Slow to Dusty overnight which gives us a much greater chance of forcing a result with all 4 spinners lining up today in what is a full strength XI with nobody below energetic.

The Flying Scotsmen v Rhema Warriors

Big game for me this week - looking for a draw as i hope that will be enough to avoid relegation back to XI. Last time we played I lost by an innings and 56 runs so will need a good turnaround.

As long as I stay out of the relegation zone this week then I should be ok, as the final weeks fixtures see all the bottom 3 play the top 3.

My whole squad is "sublime" so putting out my 1st XI and hoping for the best.

It's batting weather.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Chums

Relegation battle today, I'm 6th and he's 5th. Have to win to have any chance of avoiding relegation, so to that end we've put out virtually a full-strength side. Only change is Causon in for Frazer, who's PFL is only Lively. Got 3 bowlers at Invigorated and 1 at Energetic. Batting's not too bad PFL wise.

DIBS DIPPERS v super batterz

Mrs BB is safely stuck in mid-table, so has just picked her fittest side available as she takes on the leaders

Southend United v Uarts Allstars

Welcome to Southend United CG for the match between Southend United and Uarts Allstars.

We can tell you that Southend United won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

The Flying Ferrets v Southend

Massive game here as I aim to set up a last game decider for promotion to The Championship. Really hoping YB does me a favour and beats first place so that a draw next week would be enough.

Welcome to The Croft CG for the match between The Flying Ferrets and Southend.

We can tell you that Southend won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this sunny day.

DIBS DIPPERS v super batterz

We can tell you that DIBS DIPPERS won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this sunny day.

Lost two wickets but these have got some runs and now have max batting points so looking good. I'll end up declaring before the end of the day so hopefully can make a breakthrough as their batting line up isn't much cop apart from their top 2.

The players are off the field for tea.

Good performance from the bowlers, now need to get to 360 if poss. (which considering we've only got 8 batting bonus points all season mght be a tall order)

Lancashire Lightning CCC vs Southchurch Village CC

No worries for me in this one as promotion from this division finally nears. We play 2nd place at home in the last game with a 13-point lead and a victory over them in the bag.

Uneven pitch and PC&H humid weather. Won by an innings and loads earlier in the season against this lot. No fitness issues as we look to wrap up our 17th win in a row in all competitions.

End of Over 12 (4 runs). Lancashire Lightning CCC: 37-2, runrate=3.08 (1st Inn: 42-10)
Trail by 285 runs. (Southchurch Village CC 364-1 dec)
