FC - Match 7

It's lunch and the pace is good. 95 runs in 25 overs is about right and would leave them needing over 4 per over. Luckily I remembered to take Cattermole out of the attack this morning!

End of Over 45 (4 runs). ShrimperZone CC: 155-1, runrate=3.44 (1st Inn: 269-10)
Lead by 133 runs. (icedgod 291-10)
Overs left today: 75
Easton 11-4-24-0
Lamey* 30 (50 balls)
Cunningham 94 (157 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba b. Mcleod 28 (FOW: 90/1)

Set my declaration at 160, leaving them to get 270.

The players are off the field for lunch.

End of Over 36 (Maiden). Southend United: 126-3, runrate=3.50 (1st Inn: 361-5 dec)
Lead by 236 runs. (Vulgar Boatmen C.C. 251-10)
Overs left today: 75
Mcgivern 6-1-21-0
Marcel* 69 (108 balls)
Hulse 52 (99 balls)
Last Wicket: Wright lbw b. Barnard 0 (FOW: 2/3)

All worked out beutifully.

End of Over 12 (Maiden). icedgod: 29-4, runrate=2.42 (1st Inn: 291-10)
Trail by 200 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 269-10 & 251-2 dec)
Overs left today: 40
Schofield 6-3-9-1
Tasawwar* 1 (11 balls)
Alvi 3 (11 balls)

Last Wicket: Lampard lbw b. Sutherland 2 (FOW: 27/4)

Not going well for the win, but they need 4.8 an over, looks like a draw.

End of Over 30 (3 runs). Vulgar Boatmen C.C.: 102-0, runrate=3.40 (1st Inn: 251-10)
Trail by 168 runs. (Southend United 361-5 dec & 160-3 dec)
Overs left today: 35
Walker 11-3-26-0
Lock* 56 (95 balls)
Samaraweera 39 (87 balls)

You knew what you were doing all along, didn't you B ;)

Never in doubt. To be fair, as I'm sure the reporters summary will show, we're better than them in both batting and bowling. The first innings was just one of those random anomalies where my three best bats all chose to fail in quick time.

Plums seals a MoM performance, 4-4, 8 wickets in the match and a cital 73 in the first innings. Believe with Muse's intentional defeat that we're top of the table.

End of Over 29 (Maiden). icedgod: 50-10, runrate=1.72 (1st Inn: 291-10)
Trail by 179 runs. (ShrimperZone CC 269-10 & 251-2 dec)
Overs left today: 23
Plummer 4-1-4-4
Kealeboga* 1 (8 balls)
Last Wicket: Mcleod lbw b. Plummer 0 (FOW: 50/10)

Ok, the batting not so far apart, though I like our lower order rating! Cattermole drags down the seam rating. With Graham fit on a regular basis next season we'll be pushing elite/elite.

ShrimperZone CC icedgod
Top Order: exquisite sensational
Middle Order: quality exceptional
Lower Order: respectable worthless
Seam Bowling: exquisite masterful
Spin Bowling: elite remarkable
Fielding: respectable mediocre

Just got back into my HK apartment - no public net access in the Singapore hotel (and I didn't take personal laptop). On the plus side I did get upgraded to the Presidential Suite at the Ritz-Carlton - I was almost (only almost) embarassed by the size of it.

Have arrived back to HK to find I TIED my match with the bottom placed team which given the following ratings I'm not too disappointed with. I can't work them out. They beat second place last week and are still 22 points adrift so have some work to do to stay up but are clearly one of the stronger teams in the division.

TC Revolution ShrimperZone Vets CC
Top Order: exquisite strong
Middle Order: proficient proficient
Lower Order: abysmal feeble
Seam Bowling: sensational remarkable
Spin Bowling: wonderful sensational
Fielding: woeful feeble

A tie isn't much good to me. I'm now second 9 points behind leader who I play next week at home. A win would have meant a draw next week would have been good enough. Now I have to win.

Comparable ratings are as follows, assuming I field my strongest side

Leyland CC - Me
Top Order: superb superb
Middle Order: proficient strong
Lower Order: woeful medioce
Seam Bowling: exceptional wonderful
Spin Bowling: wonderful masterful
Fielding: mediocre feeble

On paper I have a slight edge but I'll be taking nothing for granted and my PFL is worse than his despite resting a few in today's one sided OD
