SOUTHEND United will discover their FA Trophy fourth round opponents on Monday afternoon.

The Shrimpers worked their way into the draw with a 5-3 win at Brentwood Town on Saturday.

And they will now found out who they face next when the draw takes place live on TalkSport2 around 3.15pm this afternoon.

Fourth round ties are due to be played on Saturday January 4.

A reminder that the competition is no longer regionalised from this point on. So we can now draw anyone.

What??? Brentwood was only our second away tie in our now 4th season in the Trophy. Also after four consecutive home draws.
Yeah we keep getting decent draws in the FA Trophy and bad ones in the FA Cup. Financially, we could do with that flipping next season.

Wouldn't you rather get to the QF of a competition with an easy run than get pumped by a big boy at the first hurdle?

I’d like Hampton & Richmond away. Nice new ground and a chance to get some revenge for last season

Dagenham at home please.

4000 crowd and more than £50k for the club in terms of gate receipts and a game that is at least a little bit exciting.

I just can't get excited for Sittingbourne and the like away I'm afraid.

In that scenario, the club would lose money, especially with the increased security/police presence we’d need as it would be Dagenham’s cup final again bless them.

To be honest, more home matches in this competition would actually run at a loss.

Away to a new, near-ish ground. Slough look likes the best stadium out of the lot. Sittingbourne the worst

So how much would the police/stewarding cost for Dagenham at home?.

and a chance to see Mauro Vilhete again.

Although he will probably score the winner

I don't understand your response. I'm saying I would rather have soft draws v Step 4 in FA Cup games so we can get deeper in that and earn good money.

Instead we typically get away to teams higher than us in the FAQ4 and sadly for us a horribly tough R1 tie when we got through that this season.

Tamworth and Dagenham will have had 2 TV ties each in FA Cup this season soon. Borehamwood made R5 recently. We are due some of that luck. Feels like we used it all in the noughties.
