The Robin Hood pub on Ongar Road is probably the nearest to the ground about 3/4 mile walk
The Robin Hood, now rebranded as The Robin with an emphasis on food, was the pub of choice in the late 60s (i.e. at the time of that 10-1) for their ground of that time, a little further up the Ongar Road about the time they started building the A12 fly over. They sadly lost that ground at the hands of property developers and merged with Chelmsford who in turn lost their ground in New Writtle Street at the hands of property developers. A different Brentwood team (Manor Athletic, became Brentwood Athletic then Brentwood) was allowed to reclaim the name of Brentwood Town as recently as 2004.
