I believe that Don Cowan has either one or two more games left on his one month contract. Wanted to ask if others felt we should keep him. If others are available then I'd let him go. Not been impressed or encouraged with him so far.

Wasn't there today but saw him against Yeovil and in Pre Season. He looks pacey and strong but wasteful in front of goal. If there's a better, affordable option out there, I'd let him go.

Get rid, ****ing useless. He can have all the pace in the world, he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. Probably our worst striker signing ever.

Very hard to judge a player off a couple of substitute appearances, but I've seen nothing to suggest he adds anything to the team. Eastwood and Corr are first choice by a country mile for me, so we need more options up front. I'd let him go.

(Mind you, I've been saying that about Straker ever since we signed him until the last 4 weeks!)

i would simply say that unless we can be sure of getting our hands on a better alternative then i would extend don's contract. better than nothing.

Weren't many saying that about Tomlin, yet he finished as our 2nd top goalscorer. Hardly worst signing ever, we've basically given him a month to prove himself.

So if he had scored 20 goals a season at his previous clubs, what would he be doing here. We will not get a striker who would have scored a bucket load in the last 2 seasons.

How about Uche Ikpeazu on loan from Watford then? If it is true that Brown went to Watford to watch a training match as we have been offered a player on loan.

No but there will be loads of free transfers out there who are desperate for a contract. We keep on looking until we find one.

I understand that he has hardly set the world alight. but??? As I said earlier in this thread can we guarantee getting in someone better?? If not then I suggest we keep Don on board for if anything happens to Barry or Freddy we';ll be left up slack alley as regards numbers. I thought Seedy Njie would have figured more prominantly on the bench this year but as yet that hasn't been the case so Phil Brown must see something in Don in training. Like Chapperz was saying this time last season people were slagging off Gavin Tomlin and were doing so a bit more into the season as opposed to the stage they're at now.. So give him a fair crack and hes not getting minutes under his belt because of no reserve side and Freddy and Barry being first choice.
