Andy Edwards is the other centre-half (£400,000 to Birmingham), Gary Hooper or Brett Angell the other forward.

I think the last keeper we received money for was Jim Stannard (£50,000?).

We got £3.65m for Stan all in, and we got absolutely nowhere near £500k for Hunt. The deal was Hunt and Poole (our record signing, who'd signed for £350,000 a year earlier) to Birmingham in exchange for £100,000, Dave Regis (who Birmingham signed 6 months earlier for £200,000 and we sold for £150,000, 18 months later) and Roger Willis (who Birmingham had signed for £150,000 and we released on a free). Given that neither Regis nor Willis enhanced their reputations at Birmingham, at most that deal was worth £450,000 for two players, one of which was worth £350,000 to the same manager 12 months ago. I think you've therefore got to value Hunt at £100,000. That's behind whatever we got for JCR, the £150,000 we got for Peter Butler etc.

I just worked out that at the old exchange rate of £1 > 480 Italian Lira that the sum ^^^ would be about £20,000 and being honest i'd be surprised if Soares was worth a quarter of that amount :raspberry:

Indeed, that swap deal only escapes the criticism it deserves only because of the even more ludicrous Keith Dublin-Tommy Mooney one, where we paid money to give away a good player and get a crap one in return.
