Managed to register the lowest ever T20 score tonight off 77 in 16.5 overs. I know the bad luck with injuries is not helping but fear that is season over. Westley,Bopara,Petini and Masters all crocked.

With regard to the T20 we are unlucky in that we have a stupidly competitive group every year. No real weak team (apart from Kent this year haha!). Need a couple of results to go our way to keep Middlesex and Surrey below us. On paper we appear to have a fantastic t20 side

Congratulations to Jaik Mickleburgh who becomes Essex's twelfth highest scoring batsmen of all time, with 243 in an innings lasting eight and a half hours. Just failed, by 2 runs, to enter into the top ten.

Also well done to Ben Foakes who gets his maiden championship hundred in style. 82* with 4 balls before lunch and 4644 to bring up three figures.
