Terrific match this.

Maximum VFM for the full house.

Must say, it's great to see a ground packed. Like the old days of semi-finals.

The quarter-final the other day at Headingley was empty!

Was one of the best games I've ever seen at Chelmsford
Turning point the Ravi catch that was not given, I thought it was out as in line, but Ravi unsure and third umpire said no .
Then Walters dropped a dolly on Patel when two overs to go
End of day Notts deserved the win, record chase from 80.3

The thing that let Essex down imho was the field placing, Notts saved a pot of runs with good positioning of players, but that is a small moan, on otherwise was a brilliant day

There was only really one angle on the TV (bearing in mind I was watching a stream) that looked out to me but it definitely wasn't conclusive

Trouble with the catch was that the soft signal was not out, so it's very difficult to overturn it.

I admire Ravi's honesty, though. He could easily have given the impression he caught it and might have got a soft signal of out, which would have changed the dynamics.

One thing did puzzle me was why Jamie Porter didn't bowl the last over.

I think Porter was injured , we were sitting in members by the subs and he was off the field a lot to wards the end.
I thought they would bowl him out, but if he picked up a strain/ tear maybe reason why

Joe Roots brother was a decent bloke and took a lot of good humour stick re being towel carrier all day

Ah, that makes a bit more sense.

I had an appointment at 7:30pm on Friday evening and missed the middle overs of the reply, just catching the end on the radio driving back, so wasn't sure who was on/off the field.

After such an amazing year so far, a terrible couple of days for Essex losing a legend like Tonker Taylor and then a semi-final. Notts scored 400 the other day so them chasing it down wasn't that surprising.

Really tough game today. Warwickshire are complete gash but we're without both opening bowlers and the sunshine should make it a batting paradise meaning a draw must be overwhelming odds on.

Fortunately Ian Bell is a useless tosser so we've won the toss and are batting. Need to score 500+ here and let scoreboard pressure do its work. The key wicket once we get to bowl will be Trott.

Just lost two quick wickets.

No fear, though, we've got a fella coming in at number 11 with a batting average of 65!

So 263/5 at the close of play, was a tad dissapointed with the lack of runs from Westley & TDS, but I guess thats the beauty of the game.

I think if we can continue to bat through most of Tuesday and aim to achieve to get a 400 odd score on the board, it should put us on good footing, also for our bowlers as the weather cools a little from Tuesday evening through Wednesday.
