Southgate only has one tactic, to be fair to him against a side like Germany it works but it's useless against someone like Slovenia.

To be fair to Rice he has rightly IMHO been selected after a very impressive season with Arsenal but like many before him showing same form for the national side is not to be relied on.

It really is simple, we need to play with pace and width. We’ve got the players to do it, but Southgate doesn’t have the conviction to do so, hence he is content to play safe.

We have played 2.5 games & we’ve barely got into third gear. Thank god it’s only been minnows we’ve faced, as a decent team would have exploited us again and again

I've been impressed with Guehi but he does slightly feel like an elite version of Kensdale - fantastic 99% of the time but prone to a bad error every match.

Mainoo is genuinely class tbf, he's one of the reasons Man Utd beat Man City in the FA Cup final, I expect in a few years time we'll build our squad around him and Bellingham. The only risk is that as 19 year old the hype goes to his head.
