It could indeed be simpler; offer him a deal up to Christmas with an extension until the end of the season if he plays 15 games. If he is good enough (or better than alternative player at centre left) he will play; if not then he won't.
This is the also busy part of the season with league, JPT, Essex Senior and FA Cup cups.
It does depend on Adam trusting PB to treat all as equals and the right money being offered.
