I just love Deep Purple. :dim:

Truely terrible taste in music,CS.Even Shrimpero would not be amused.:nope:

As a rule I hate heavy metal - sorry Brettie and Al - but I do have a warm disposition towards DP, especially 'My Woman From Tokyo,' 'Never Before' and 'Burn.'

And I know for sure that H is one of the good guys.

Can I just add that no-one is forced to be a member of the Zone --- they are guests of the management and as such can have their membership removed should it be deemed necessary. If anyone doesn't like the way the Zone is run they are quite at liberty to stop posting.

I love the Zone and all who sail in her (except Spartan). I may be over-stepping the mark at this particular juncture but even though I don't agree with all my brother says, I'd be reneging on my duty if I did not try to help him out here. I know that what goes around comes around and it may well be that some posters have used this thread to deliver a few sneaky comebacks to BB for what's happened previously, but I hope that no-one's membership is removed as a result of any 'clear the air' exchanges on this thread. Without wishing to seem as if my nozzle is up certain quarters, can I just add that I think the Zone is run really well.

Barna, maybe you just take the whole thing too seriously. I think most people post on here for a bit of a laugh and now Lord Football seems to have left to join some pointless picket line somewhere, you are one of the only lefties that we can have a dig at. Chin up mate, its the weekend.

Steveo, feel free to have a dig at me instead. You're a Graham Parker fan if I recall correctly? Well maybe you think you're a real rough diamond but it seems to me that you can't be too strong if you need your mates behind you every time you put out one of your insults. :Red card:

I'm an atheist but one thing I agree with in the Old Testament is "an eye for an eye." I'm not a pacifist either, so why should I ignore cowardly comments which people refuse to make in public debate?

And this ladies and gentlemen is the reason why I developed such fine skills in diplomacy at an early age.

I dont need, or ask for anyone to be behind me. My opinions are my own, is it a coincidence they are similar to a lot of others on here?

And why would i want to have a dig at you? Although you appear to share similar views with your bro, you seem to be able to put them across without attracting a load of abuse. Your brother however comes across as a pompous twit who continually quotes the Guardian on matters relating to a Country he left long ago.
I'm sure he is a really nice bloke in the flesh, and next time he gives us Brits the honour of a visit to our shores, you might give him a few tips on how to get on with people.

I think steveo has hit the nail on the head there. This isn't some sort of "organised" moaning and red rep gang... Frankly I just think that we all have the same opinion (formed independently) that barnablue talks bollocks in every single post that he makes.

If one person tells you something, they could be wrong. If twenty people tell you something....

Wise words indeed Mac.But from what I hear(and from what I've seen)it would appear that some members of SZ are more equal than others.
I'm also reminded of Groucho Marx's classic quote, that, He wouldn't want to be a member of any club that would accept him as a member.
Unlike Groucho, I'm quite pleased to be a member of the Zone.I look forward to receiving my daily dose of news about the greatest football club in the universe ie SUFC.
I could do without some of the mindless insults that seem to follow me around though.

That'll be for the last home game against Burton.Just booked tickets for me and the wife yesterday.I think I can do without the tips thanks.I get on pretty well with most of the people I meet and work with in my daily life.

Serious question - do you tend to email them, or speak to them face to face? It might just be your written voice that comes across as a ****.

And I'm reminded of the classic Oscar Wilde quote, 'There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.' Get my drift?

Or Barna you may try Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.
And i believe the axis of evils motto "Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing."

Or maybe "Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative."

"Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious."

MC,
Now you're exaggerating the numbers of you're (not so)merry little gang.
As you know full well, you're one of about half a dozen people who have a look at my rep on the settings section, look at other people's comments , and then echo that in a comment of your own.
If that's not a gang mentality, then I don't know what is.There's nothing independant about it whatsoever.Granted you do it individually but that's all.
There may well be twenty or so who are prepared to engage in debate with me in public.I have no problem with that.
FWIW, I think of you as a rightwinger(lite). You seem to have a sense of humour, as regards the comments you make, on the public boards.I've been interested in some of the things you've had to say about growing up on a council estate and running your own business.
I could do without some of the snide, bandwagon comments you address to me via the rep facility however.

Osy,
But that's New Testament crap.
