There was a big front page spread on Tilly's feelings toward Delancey last night....

Tilly wants Delancy to sell their 50% share in the club to Uncle Ron at the price which was agreed upon originally..

Delancey have moved the goalposts and want more money for their stake now, more money which by the looks of it is pricing Ron out of the market.

Unless Ron can get hold of this 50% share we wont be getting our new stadium, plus we will still have people involved in this club, who are not interested in football.

Tilly wants Delancey to sell their stake so him and Ron can move the club forward on and off the pitch..

I think it's time for a bit of fan power...

We need to get Delancey to sell their stake to Ron at an affordable price.

Until this happens we cannot move forward as a club.

Delancey could be holding us back.

It's time to rise up as one and fight this company that appear to be strangling Uncle ron and our beloved club....

We MUST do something.

If we can get a credible number of people I would be up for it.

Smiffy you could run naked down the street as a protest. That would really get the crowds going !

A protest outside their offices would be pointless. Even if a hundred or so protesters stayed there for days on end. Protests can be ignored very easily.

The only way to even think about forcing the hand of people like Wagman is to hit them where it hurts - monetarily. That means looking into their current plans - for example, if they want to build a new housing development, we petition the local authorities to deny planning permission - not mentioning SUFC, but finding out genuine local reasons to oppose plans - ecological or otherwise (plenty of ideas on the KARERS site for this)...

Another way might be to put pressure on their business partners or potential clients through a variety of means with the aim of making them walk away from Delancey... and looking into the financial aspects of Delancey's dealings to ensure they are squeaky clean (and if not...).

However, the caveat to all this is that it would have to be done very carefully for one reason. That is, Delancey have SUFC by the knackers. Any attempt to derail Delancey would absolutely definately lead to a reprisal in kind. Delancey will find it far easier to take us under than we will them...

What is really needed is a third party to mediate between Ron and Colin and solve this playground dispute... or, for Ron to get his hands on something else that Colin wants. For example, if Colin wants to build some houses in a particular area, Ron could step in and buy the enabling land (or something like that - you get the idea). A trade-off that even the EU would be proud of is what is needed here...

Regardless of the rights and wrongs, I don't think I would be commenting if I was manager, other than to say I hope things are resolved swiftly.

Yes, slightly odd to see Tilly's comments in the Echo... very much the Ron mouthpiece there. Odd for Echo to run the story, too. Seeing stories complaining about him are the sorts of thing that Wagman tends to wear as a badge of honour.

I'm slightly struggling to work out what Wagman wants here. I suppose the answer must be that both Wagman & Uncle Ron want Fossett's Farm, and neither is prepared to budge on this.

Let me ask the usual daft question: is there nowhere else in the borough of Southend where the club could move to a new facility with associated developments that would make the club a viable financial prospect?

Smiffy / SUFCFaraway - sorry, but I had to delete your posts because they quoted FishFingers earlier post, which was stupid in the extreme.

FishFingers has been warned about his conduct.

I have to agree with that, I cannot see why Tilly is coming out and making such comments.

If Wagman and Martin are locked in a "big willy" contest then the only loser long term will be SUFC.

With regard to other sites in the borough of Southend, I am sure there are, but then it will be the usual story of a recalcitrant council and the local NIMBY's.

There's loads of land by Sadler's Farm and the A130 link between there and the A127... that has always struck me as the perfect place.

The only possible problem I can imagine is that the land is not designated for development.... how do you go about getting this changed? Perhaps we could petition Mr Prescott to change the land use of a suitable plot in that area.... one thing's for sure - the roads situation would be massively improved by putting the stadium there instead of Fossett's Farm.

I recall that delncey were not happy a coulpe of years ago with the negative comments made by supporters to the extent that they issued a "shut up or we pull out" announcement.

Perhaps then we should speak louder?

You can't ? His boss will have orchestrated that ... and probably a decent tactic.

One property developer slags off another property developer. What's new?

Popular and hugely successful local football manager slags off despised property developer, we all sit up and take notice.

You are right Mick, I should have phrased that better. It is obvious why he has been quoted.

Canvey groundshare is a non-starter, but can yuo remember any real reason why this area hasnt been explored as an option more thoroughly Mick (or anyone else)?
