Ahhh, so that's why the move there never came off...

Quote[/b] (Somerset Shrimper @ Oct. 04 2005,20:58)]Regarding an alternative site, there is a large piece of land for sale on Shoebury Road between the Bournes Green roundabout and The Angel. It has planning consent for "leisure use" as it is the proposed site for Thorpe Hall golf club should their current site be developed.

Any views?

Yep I have already alerted the club to this piece of land about 3 years ago, unfortunately it is in the hands of a developer who really wants to move Thorpe Hall Golf Course out and build houses on that site. Think of the return on the property price for such a prime location in Thorpe Bay.
From what i have heard through a certain family member the longer this drags on, the less chance of this proposal going through. Really is alot of support for the "Keep Thorpe Bay Green" campaign so i still think thats still our best option.

Much closer to home as well.

In all Honesty, do you think that if the people of Thorpe bay are getting worked up about the Golf Course being built on , that they are going to accept a football stadium and the enabling developments only half a mile away !!!

If the residents of St mary's ward felt it was worth lying about fans on the streets think what the residents of vastly more expensive properties who will be on a direct route from a railway station to the Ground will say !!!

Plus I don't think the land has outline planning consent for a stadia (and certainly not the enabling development) I think it is only deemed as "recreational"

I already tried that and they didn't buy any of my Bettaware or Kleeneze products.
