Deadpool 2024

One of a breed of MPs we are not going to see the likes of again. I could rattle off name after name of 70s, 80s and 90s MPs. Since New Labour and towing the party line characters have largely been replaced by faceless automatons.
Without getting into political field, too scared to say the wrong thing upset someone and career in ruins , such is the world we live in x
 
Whether you were a supporter or not, you had to admire his honesty and humour. RIP.
Exactly my point. I wasn’t a fan of his politics, nor that of Tony Benn, but to hear both defend their stance was fabulous. These days all you hear are predetermined sound-bytes. I’d put Hattersley in the same bracket.
 
Many years ago I was showing a South African friend around London. We had just had a look at Downing Street and we were heading towards our next attraction. Walking towards us on his own was John Prescott.

I shouted out something like - Well done John, keep up the good work!

He acknowledged my call and carried on his way towards Downing Street.

My companion asked who that was, and I said our Deputy PM. She said no way would someone like that be allowed to walk around without guards in SA, or even allowed to walk, they would be driven everywhere.

Sadly, that is exactly what happened here,
