Deadpool 2024

Wayne Osmond, 73.
Ah, I knew the day would come when one of my life long heroes would pass. Melvin Wayne Osmond was the 2nd oldest of the performing brothers, and the 4th son of the family, with his two oldest brothers having both been born deaf. A man obsessed with flying, who gained his pilot's licence in his teens before he gained his driver's licence. Like his siblings, Wayne played a multitude of instruments, but mostly played bass guitar to match his deep voice in the band. He co-wrote most of their hits alongside Alan and Merrill, including the subliminal Crazy Horses, a song so far ahead of its time in being about pollution back in 1972.

A brain tumour operation in 1997 left him fairly deaf, and then a stroke in 2012 left him unable to play the guitar any more. I consider myself blessed to have seen him perform in the Osmonds World Tour back in 1975, and then, in more recent times, with brothers Merrill, Jay and Jimmy, and then later just with Merrill and Jay at the Cliffs.

He leaves his wife, Kathy, 5 children and numerous grandchildren. A gentle man who loved a joke, indeed, I've just read in the family's tribute to him that, 'He would want everyone to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that families are forever, and that banana splits are the best dessert. We love him and will miss him dearly".

God Bless Wayne, you have truly earned your "Wings".

James Lee Williams, best known as the drag artiste, The Vivienne, passed yesterday aged just 32. Winner of Ru Paul's Drag Race first UK season, and had seemed to be making a good career on stage, having been recently playing the Wicked Witch of the West in a touring version of The Wizard of Oz, and then as the Child Catcher in a similar touring version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Took part in several reality shows, including Celebrity Hunted and Dancing on Ice. RIP.
