Official Match Thread Crewe 3-4 Southend United

Our 2005-06 title winning season was put on track by a run of 7 consecutive wins after a dodgy start. We made heavy weather of beating some very poor teams away from home - Swindon and Rotherham. We've got a decent chance to do something similar again, because the fixture list looks pretty kind.

A run that also included a barnstorming League victory over our local rivals.

With any luck, the same will occur on Friday.

To be fair, Plymouth do have a large London-based contingent

I know things are bad at Col U but the match report on the official scum website shows the attendance today as a big fat ZERO heh.

Like many fans I was concerned that we may have overstretched with the Fossets Farm budget. A week b4 the start of the season no one decent seemed to want to sign for us.

With Freedman coming in and the quality loan signings I feel that those who doubted Rons amibition and willingness to put his hand in his pocket should now feel reassured. Well done Ron! Well done T+B! Well done Southend!

Good comment , to go with Freedmans quality and experience , we need a simular type player , but a defender .

Then we really will have a decent blend of youth and experience , and with the youths learning and picking up things from the older heads will only enhance their game and will bring them on leaps and bounds.

3 points was the main objective today and we have acheived that so well done Tilly , brush and the boys .
