With Leeds sniffing around and Coventry supposedly doing the same I can't see Colchester being at the top of Barny's list. Unless that is he does want to stay as local as possible.

My instinct tells me Leeds will get him once they let Beckford go, but I really hope he signs RM's 'much improved contract'. Don't see it comparing to the likes of what Leeds could offer him though.

That may have had legs before he hit a hattrick for Coventry, then followed it up by scoring in the next match.

I'm still praying Barnard stays, but I think he'll be off to Leeds to replace Beckford within the next week or so.

Well, rumour has it, Beckford's last game for Leeds was against United at the weekend. I reckon it will be early next week.

I read on Friday that he was delaying a transfer to Newcastle to play against United, that goal will certainly have put his value up a bit.

Whilst I admire your spirit in risking a long jail sentence in the Blue's cause, I can't honestly see what purpose it's going to serve. Whether Beckford makes it all the way to Newcastle or gets run down by your car on the way there, Leeds are still going to need to replace him.............possibly with Barney.

If enough clubs want him, the price'll go up. the ol' supply and demand! if he's not gonna sign a new contract, i want as many clubs coming in for him as poss.

Even ignoring the contract situ, does anyone think he is worth anything like that? Seems like madness to me and cannot see Leeds fans being happy when (with the greatest respect), Barnard turns up instead of Beckford...
