Masters signed a 2 and a half year deal when he joined the club, and therefore is under contract for another season.
Having seen a decent amount of Joyce, I'm nigh on staggered we've offered him a deal. We might as well have just had Masters as 2nd choice.

Agree that we may aswell have let Master sit on our bench, but clearly they want experience for the lad.

Indeed, but it's probably better for him to play games than sit on our bench, so let him go out on loan and keep a 2nd choice here. Makes sense to me.

But if he spends next season away from the club, it's going to make it pretty hard for us to give him a new deal.
I found it interesting that Revell picked Masters as his most improved player or something in his last blog. It kind of hints that people have realised he's become a better keeper in the last season, which makes me slightly surprised we're bothering to keep Joyce on.
