Had a bloke behind me saying to his son after our bad start "should never have sold Hall & Mohsni", on his son saying Mohsni was actually playing he told him "no we sold him to West Spam son"....He was a bit drunk and a plank to worry about telling him he was actually playing for us (well sort of!)

Then on way out heard to Southend fan moaning about display on which 2 other guys said he sounds a bit upset , I wonder what he would be like if he supported a real team like Liverpool. My missus had enough and told the guys "Southend is actually a real team you ********" which quickly shut them up.

Anyone else have any comments overheard yesterday?

I think the sad thing for me was hearing "it will be a long time till I go to Roots Hall again", a better performance/result that might have changed to "when will We be playing again".

Truth is if you don't do it on the pitch all the enthusiam and hype has no lasting effect.

Bang on the money,The club were in the shop window to attract new fans yet what they dished up will more than likely turn off some diehards.

having watched Southend lately we should not be moaning where are these other 25,000 people, it should be more its lucky we actually get those 5,000

I was sat next to a group off of a sunshine bus, one of which had 18 yard box tourettes, which caused him to shout "Penalty" every time the ball went near the 18 yard box.... in his defence, he probably had a point on two occasions!

Day trippers? No just people out to support Southend United. You would be suprised if any have been tempted to become regulars at Roots Hall.

If we'd taken 9,000 like Crewe did, we'd have lost a lot of money - those day trippers have helped to keep the club afloat a while longer.....

According to what I was told the money from the cup run has already been spent !,The next couple of weeks could easily break the club.

It's a shame that the players did not realize that yes they where on show by tv , radio and if they had won or played well we might have encouraged people to support our team, fans and Players wanting to play for us,

Crewe had a few youth and home grown players for them.
Youngsters might thinking this is the team I want to play for. Southend United could do that.

Never mind about the day trippers you all know if you have blue blood in you . and the others well they keep the ticket cost down and help the true fans enjoy there club and yes when we get our new stadium and start going up we are going to get the plastic fans

Two young lads sitting infront of me with their mum. One of the lads spent the whole match on his Nintendo DS whilst the other one spent most of the time getting up and down to go to the tea bar. At least their mum enjoyed it... Oh no, she was on her phone most of the match :stunned:

I'm all for getting as many people to Wembley even if they aren't regular Blues fans, but the constant strange looks when I was letting my emotions get the better of me at certain points was getting a bit tiresome!

There's an interview with Ron Martin in yesterday's programme, during which he states the money generated from Wembley will see us break even this season. How true that might be is obviously a separate debate.

I do think shirt sales etc from non-regulars will have helped us financially: when I went to the club shop on Saturday to get a Wembley replica shirt for my mate I was surprised to learn they'd completely sold out! Having said that, I remember reading the club shop is franchised & we don't see much money from sales there, is that correct?

Why are they idiots? Straker is poor in my opinion. Are people not entitlement to an opinion either or do we all have to agree with you?

Hooray, I caught one!

(For clarification, I think Straker put in a performance that will probably go down as the worst in the history of Wembley.)
