Agree totally with this, apart from mine was an IPA.A Guinness has been cracked open by myself in honour of this moment. I'm immensely happy that the football club I have known for as long as I can remember has been saved from extinction.
Although I am far away from Southend-on-sea now it is still a part of my soul and until these recent times of uncertainty I don't think I fully understood that. My heart, as all of ours, beats blue blood and will do for a long time to come.
Enjoy this moment, Shrimpers. Never beaten.
Finally we can get back to the good old days of Discussing about the players and management again.

Not sure that being talked about less than Nigel Farage is a great achievement, but kudos I suppose.
I concur. I shall celebrate with a large shot of fine (and local) Glenfiddich MaltAgree totally with this, apart from mine was an IPA.enjoy the game folks.
Well said that man. !! THANKS STAN…..you gave us hope when it all felt lost.Wanted to say thanks to Stan…he was the catalyst to get in Tom and then the three amigos and I think we can see that BBC Essex rant as a turning point of sorts…it created a focal point mainly for good but even those who didn’t see his worth were invested probably more so than before his arrival
It's been an unbelievably stressful time for fans as well and it's worth mentioning that the club was incredibly fortunate (IMO) that over the worst 5 years in our history the fanbase actually doubled down in their efforts to support the club. Phenomenal attendances for the bottom of L1 and the NL. In the mid 80's when the club was so nearly killed off before, we had crowds that were just over 1000 and over 2000 was a decent showing.
And also support of the Tory party"I wish the outgoing chairman well in recognition of 25 years financial support of the club” Tony Cox.
Anyone else…? Nope didn’t think so!
Oh give it a rest. Can your politics take a backseat for five ****ing seconds? And also support of the Tory party

I've said before, the club did not deserve the support it got, and it's not just down to this incredible management team we have; it was evident as far back as Bond.
So well done all concerned.
One thing I am curious about however (and apologies if this has been covered), but we are told that all the debt has been paid, yes? So what happens if the deal doesn't go through? Because it ain't been paid by Ron.
We’re also still none the wiser as who is in the consortium, how they’ll be funding it or what their plans are for the club.

Yes I think it’s just you Mrs MartinIs it just me, or does anyone else feel a little sad to see Ron go?
