CLUB SHOP - SEASON CARD DISCOUNT? Not any more..

Its a sad day when real fans feel this way.....

I won't be going in the club shop myself, son can get his own with birthday money if he wants.

No more 50/50 draws & lottery.

If someone from SUFC reads this, good job for making the season card holders feel screwed.

Next season (2009 - 2010) I will probably go back to individual tickets and attend rarely. And yes, I am a real fan.

SUFC are basing those numbers ie 5 points to a pound if you purchase in the club shop, but if you use your teamcard elsewhere to get points you will be lucky to get 2 points per pound, most of the traders offer 1 point per pound some offering 1 point per 2 pound.

So to get £10.00 discount, you would have to get 1000 points, so to get 1000 points at 99% of the retailers you would have to spend £2000

Thats a joke!!!

More than one person has said this and, for me, it sums the whole teamcard thing up.

Having changed the scheme, the club can't even make sure that every person entitled to the card gets it!

Agreed. Still aint got mine. called 5 times now and asked for one face to face in the shop a while ago but alas no joy. can't be f**kng bothered anymore. what i don't spend in the shop i'll just have to spend down the Boar b4 the game instead!!!

2. Most of the 'free' or 'subsidised' coaches that RM provides are for cup games where the club get 45% of the gate receipts. So he may pay for the travel but gets a bit back from the ticket money. It's still very good of him to offer this from time to time, but more & more clubs offer cheap travel these days.

But RM pays for these free or subsidised coaches out of his own money and the gate reciepts etc go back into the Club.

No offence meant, but I don't understand your argument. Your logic appears to be flawed.

First of all I haven't "lost" 10%: 10%-5%=5%.

Although I have, then, "lost" 5% on any purchases that I make in the club shop, I have far more opportunities to build up points that I can then use - simply by purchasing stuff that I would buy anyway. I've bought stuff online from HMV, La Senza and also Expedia, accumulating more than £40 on my Teamcard in the process at no extra cost to myself.

As I have already said - if I'd wanted to save £40 in the club shop last season by using my season ticket I would have had to have spent £400 - a figure that I would never have reached.

I feel two systems could exist easily - however the club went for teamcard at the disadvantage of the fans and 'shelved' the STH's 10% - IMO.

No offence taken.

Every link into a site of purchase can earn the first site money, some junior football clubs do this to raise funds etc, and big companies welcome it. Financially SUFC will make a % this way as will teamcard get a % as well; well done them.
You want to spend online at these outlets; well done you, but, not all of us can afford to do this, but we can afford the odd shirt now & again.
BUT overall the fan base just want 10% off at the till for being a STH, we all know the price of goods in the shop is OTT (just look at sale goods prices now that still make them a profit).

I feel it would be interesting to see overall if you do make it worth while over 2/3 seasons but I very much doubt the majority will, infact, I'm fairly sure. It is not a good thing for the masses IMO.

Do we get points for renewing our season ticket costs?
