Question Club Crest - keep current one or design a new one?

Would you keep the current badge

I voted to leave it, but I do also love the idea of something bold and simple; either the 3 seaxes or a shrimp, with just our initials underneath really appeals to me.

I would like to go back to my favourite of all time from 1969. Also, it would encourage a red and white away kit.

I wouldn't mind a tidy up of the logo to signify a new era. But also don't mind keeping this one. It doesn't really matter as long as it's clearly Southend United

I would just change the font tbh the current badge fits in already with the modern era imo its clean and simple, unlike some of the clubs with council coat of arms style crests. Would be nice to have a bespoke typeface that honours the history of the club.

What is it they say? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Seaxe x 3 -In the Essex coat of arms, and also the badge of Essex CCC
A football - We use them a lot
A Shrimp - Our long time Nickname
Water - Southend-on-Sea

And lastly all in the current club colours, that make us unique in this League (and above)

I like the badge as it is, it’s definitely better with the Shrimp than the lion. I wouldn’t be against the consortium considering a rebrand if it was done in consultation with the Fan Advisory Board though. We could keep the basic elements and layout and just spruce it up.

Could someone post all the iterations of the crest on here?
Needs a shrimp and a kangaroo!

Would consider the anchor replacing the football but I like it as it is.

I like a bright coloured kit, makes the players look bigger, stronger and more imposing.
Need to do colour psychology research into what colours are the most intimidating before deciding.

Its time to look forward future and change the badge to reflect this. I would keep the Seaxe x 3 but add a toilet, a plumber and some onions.

I'd be ok with a new look tbh. As others say, badges change over time and it's time for a new era. What we've got now is ok but nothing great. As long as there was strong fan oversight and it got veto'd if it wasn't agreed upon by the consensus I'd be alright with that.

Any of the graphics aficionados on here fancy quick mockup?
